Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

I was going to cancel yesterday to give my 30 days notice for TV and the retentions guy said that all that Sky would offer this year was 50% off. He said that he could offer me that straight away and that they wouldn't offer any better deals nearer to cut off date. Is this just sales talk or is 50% off the best anyone has got this year? (Currently on 60% off).
....I got 60% off on the 4th October:) (everything except Sports HD pack)0 -

My dad got 50% off, a £50 bill credit (I forgot to mention this in my earlier post) and did not have to re-contract, so there are definitely deals out there better than 50% off with a new 12 month contract though they be account specific.''He who takes no offence at anyone either on account of their faults, or on account of his own suspicious thoughts, has knowledge of God and of things devine.''0 -

Best offer I had was 50% off the Boxsets package only as per Sky Stay 50 link.
They wouldn't offer any discount on multiroom so my package was due to go from £25 to £31, not massive I know but out of principle. So I am currently Skyless ha ha
I had the same issue getting them to budge with the price of multiscreen, so cancelled it and went with the 50% off offer. I checked on my account on my sky box and there was an offer for 50% off multiscreen for 6 months (no minimum term).0 -

Cheers. Gonna give that a bash now. Only getting a 40% offer on the "left Sky in the last 12 months page" so let's see what live chat says.0 -
I was on 60% discount for Box Sets + Sky Sports until Feb 2017.
No discount on Sky Sports HD or Multiscreen though.
Total cost per month was £44.20
My bill for August was weird and I was overcharged by around £30.
Discount was no longer applied to Sky Sports package.
So I got in touch online via Sky Chat.
Was offered further 12 months at 60% discount, plus £4 off Sky Sports HD.
Total monthly cost down to £40.20
I declined offer as I was asked to committed to 12 month contract.
They wouldn't budge on that.
So I proceeded with a cancellation request instead.
With one week to go before switch off...
Sky got in touch by phone asking why I'd cancelled.
I explained because of overcharging and lack of trust in their billing accuracy.
They agreed to sort out the overcharging on August bill.
I received apology and agreed to continue current 60% off deal, no contract.
60% discount was also applied to Sky Sports HD.
So current monthly cost down to £ £40.60
Deal ends early February.
Having checked the revised billing, confusion still reigns supreme
However, having done the sums, it's now in my favour.
Over past 3 months, I should have been charged 3 x 44.20 = £132.60.
With all the billing amendments, I've ended up being charged £102.24.
So, after being overcharged in August by over £30...
I'm now better off by over £30...
And paying £3.60 a month less until February...
When I shall cancel again in January...
Or before...0 -

Be careful as they claim a policy of one deal at a time, so taking this offer would cancel the previous offer.0 -

My bill paid in September was odd, as they added a refund supposedly due on the previous bill , because I had cancelled (not true),but this was then reversed actually making me 2p better off. The next bill is normal (so far).0

Amongst the many and varied debits and credits on the last bill (end September) brought about by the change in the Sky Sports pack, I also have a credit for 2p !! :rotfl:
I defy anyone to understand this bill; Sky Customer Services certainly didn't!0 -

Just checked my bills and I also have a 2p credit sandwiched among the long list of overcharges on my August bill. If I were to attempt to interpret my Sky August bill, I'd go with the following...
"Here's your <insert applicable month here> bill from Sky. Our billing system is overcharging you this month by over £30 <or more, or less, depending on your package>, and shall continue to do so next month, and the month after that ad nauseam. We've absolutely no idea why this is happening either. Ideally, we hope you won't notice, but if you do... as a sweetener... we shall also throw in a further utterly confusing credit of 2p in order to ensure you continue to BELIEVE IN BETTER!"0
