Have had calling VM on my to-do list for ages - finally got around to it just now.
Have pretty much everything TV wise and 250 meg broadband. Monthly bill had gone up to £175.63 whilst I took my eye off the ball - very quick and easy call took it down to £78.12.

August 2024 agreed to ~£35/month for Volt M350 + Anytime chatter, an 18 month deal with RPI+3.9% rises each April.April 2025 it rose to ~£37.50/month. Was going to rise to over £75 in Feb 2026.Online, in my VM account, were offers fo ~£36/month for a 2 year like-for-like renewal (but will rise by £4/month each April), or ~£32/month for Volt M250 + anytime chatter (again would rise by £4/month each April).Did an online chat to cancel or get a better deal, they offered £28/month for like-for-like renewal (but will soon rise to £32/month in April, then £36/month in April 2027)I said to proceed to take my 30 days notice to cancel. Got an email confirming cancellation for early Feb.The next day I got a phone call from VM retentions, they offered (and I accepted) like-for-like for £22/month (£26 from this April, £30 from April 2027).Over the 24 months I reckon that averages ~£27/month, which seems a good price for 350Mbps and unlimited calls.3

Our Mega Volt VM package was due to expire in mid-January so called 150 to give our 30-day cancellation notice in mid-December. We'd been paying £64.50/mo, but was due to go up to over £200 on expiry and the best deal they offered us for the same package was £100.
Was hoping for a call back from Retentions in the following days/weeks with some more realistic offers but the call never came this time around. Got to 6 days before our VM service disconnection date and decided I'd better phone instead - called them on 020 3743 6947.
Spoke to a lovely Scottish lady who was very helpful and offered us the following Max Volt package for £51/mo! The only difference from our old Mega Volt package is that Netflix now comes with ads - a compromise we're happy to live with...
Max Volt:
- Gig1 Volt broadband with WiFi Max & WiFi pods
- Landline with anytime calls
- Mega TV including TV360 box + additional TV360 mini box
- Kids channels, Sky Cinema HD, Sky Sports HD
- Netflix standard (with ads)
We already have O2 contracts to qualify for Volt, but might be possible to get something similar with an O2 SIM thrown in.
24 month contract this time, with two price rises in April 2026 & April 2027 but still only reaches £59/mo after both rises. Better than I was expecting, and glad we don't have to worry about the renewal/cancellation dance for another two F1 seasons now.

I was offered £39.99 as a new customer.
500 Mbps Fibre
Big TV Package
Sky Sports Mix
WiFi extenders
Sky wanted £88 to stay with them!!! Tempted.
How do they connect the property to cable? Is it an easy process? Thanks0 -
We’ve been loyal customers of Virgin Media for 19 years, enjoying their broadband and TV package. We’ve always been happy with the products and services we’ve paid for. However, as our most recent contract was nearing its end, I decided to call the retention team today to explore our options and see how we could upgrade our package.Currently we are paying £132.64p for the following:
Television:+ 1 Additional TV Box + Sky Sports Collection
+ Maxit TV
+ Virgin TV 360 Box
+ Virgin TV 360 Mini Box
add-ons
- Sky Sports HD Pack
- Kids Pick
- TNT Sports
Broadband:
+ Bigger & Sports
+ M500 Broadband
Telephone:
+ Telephone Line Rental
+ Talk Weekends
add-ons
• Voicemail Free
Virgin Media retention team offered an upgrade of my M500 broadband to their 1GB package while keeping all other services, if we pay £164 per month on a 24-month contract. I explained we hadn’t made a landline call since 2015, we don’t need portable WiFi boosters, we don’t need the kids package anymore, and we don’t want access to the priority repair service. The retention agent then left me on hold to speak to her “manager”, and upon her return, I was told I’m getting a special deal in light of being a loyal customer for 19 years. They will “only” charge me £142 per month on a 24-month contract. Obviously, I declined, and now I’m shopping around as I’m sure I can get a better deal for that kind of money.

Put your 30 day notice to cancel in..make sure your marketing preferences in your account are set that they can contact you. You should receive a call back from the retentions team..only by putting in that cancellation do you qualify for the far cheaper retention dealsQubec77 said:We’ve been loyal customers of Virgin Media for 19 years, enjoying their broadband and TV package. Looks like this might be the first year in 21 years that VM won't be able to do anything.
Been offered Volt 250 and phoneline for £20 by the outbound call team (020 3743 6970). With the two price rises this would be £616 for the 24 months.
Vodafone currently offering Full Fibre 500 and phone line for a 24 month cost of £606.
Cancelled Friday, first outbound retention calls received today. Not sure if they will try again or not. Might leave it a week and take a plunge over to Vodafone.

Is this a standard offer ?

Called retentions. Was offered 250MB BB only for £20 plus future April price rises or 125MB BB only for £18 etc. Worked out to approx £25 p/m or £23 p/m over 24 months.
More competitive prices around so cancelled and now have 900MB BB only via local fibre provider for fixed £22 p/m for 18 months.
