Have had calling VM on my to-do list for ages - finally got around to it just now.

Have pretty much everything TV wise and 250 meg broadband. Monthly bill had gone up to £175.63 whilst I took my eye off the ball - very quick and easy call took it down to £78.12.

    Happy Christmas!

August 2024 agreed to ~£35/month for Volt M350 + Anytime chatter, an 18 month deal with RPI+3.9% rises each April.
April 2025 it rose to ~£37.50/month. Was going to rise to over £75 in Feb 2026.
Online, in my VM account, were offers fo ~£36/month for a 2 year like-for-like renewal (but will rise by £4/month each April), or ~£32/month for Volt M250 + anytime chatter (again would rise by £4/month each April).
Did an online chat to cancel or get a better deal, they offered £28/month for like-for-like renewal (but will soon rise to £32/month in April, then £36/month in April 2027)
I said to proceed to take my 30 days notice to cancel. Got an email confirming cancellation for early Feb.
The next day I got a phone call from VM retentions, they offered (and I accepted) like-for-like for £22/month (£26 from this April, £30 from April 2027).

Over the 24 months I reckon that averages ~£27/month, which seems a good price for 350Mbps and unlimited calls.

Our Mega Volt VM package was due to expire in mid-January so called 150 to give our 30-day cancellation notice in mid-December. We'd been paying £64.50/mo, but was due to go up to over £200 on expiry and the best deal they offered us for the same package was £100.

Was hoping for a call back from Retentions in the following days/weeks with some more realistic offers but the call never came this time around. Got to 6 days before our VM service disconnection date and decided I'd better phone instead - called them on 020 3743 6947.

Spoke to a lovely Scottish lady who was very helpful and offered us the following Max Volt package for £51/mo! The only difference from our old Mega Volt package is that Netflix now comes with ads - a compromise we're happy to live with...

    Max Volt:
    - Gig1 Volt broadband with WiFi Max & WiFi pods
    - Landline with anytime calls
    - Mega TV including TV360 box + additional TV360 mini box
    - Kids channels, Sky Cinema HD, Sky Sports HD
    - Netflix standard (with ads)

We already have O2 contracts to qualify for Volt, but might be possible to get something similar with an O2 SIM thrown in.

24 month contract this time, with two price rises in April 2026 & April 2027 but still only reaches £59/mo after both rises. Better than I was expecting, and glad we don't have to worry about the renewal/cancellation dance for another two F1 seasons now.
