How are others setting their contact preferences to on? Ours seems to be off (was on previously and the current contract came from a retentions call) but when I try to save the changes it doesn’t save. I tried a different device which wouldn’t even log in.

When has everyone received notification of their disconnection being scheduled? Starting to wonder if rather than putting our notice in, the person just didn’t bother and changed our preferences to off.

  • I've set my preferences in "Account Settings" > "Marketing and account preferences"

When I last gave 30 days notice to quit, I got an email about 50 minutes later with the subject "Disconnecting your Virgin Media services" which said "Hello <firstname>, We’re sorry to hear you’re leaving us on <day> <d> <Mmm>" and gave details about what to expect re the final bill, returning kit etc.
I also got an email the next day with the subject "Returning your Virgin Media equipment".

  • been offered this deal ,not sure if its good deal or not, or could i get better

  • Spot on sajag83. I visited a friend last week and over a coffee and chat he asked me to look at the poor deal he had just got from VM (sales team abroad). £97.00 per month!! Him and his wife are in their eighties and only use email/websearches a small amount, phone anytime and TV box with Mega package. The sales people has pushed 1GB broadband, Netflix and various other add-ons that he didn't need or know he had been signed up for.

I rang the ..6970 number above and pretended to be his son. After a small chat with the nice chap, i got it slashed to £34.00 per month for 250mb BB, TV Box incl Mega TV, Landline Anytime.

I only just got there in time. On the 11th day of the 14 day cooling off period.

Just give it a try, i've done this now about 8 times for different friends.

Total saving for the year £756.00 🙂👍️

I currently have 350MB BB (Volt boosted) for £21 which is increasing to £60 when contract ends in April 2026 and was looking to see what is available for renewal.

I saw the 250MB BB (Volt 125MB boosted) for £20 deal is available on the Virgin Media app as I was looking at renewal deals - increasing to £24 in April 2027 and £63 in April 2028.

I'm thinking the best course of action is to put in cancellation notice and see if they contact me to discuss renewal offers. I may take up the 250MB offer if there's nothing better offered before my contract ends.

@powerful_Rogue Did you go ahead with this deal? I was on Moneysupermarket and saw Virgin offering 1000MB for £24 (increasing to £28 in 2027) - I think its for new customers only but you may be able to haggle with VM so thought it might be useful to you (and anyone else) to know.
