Virgin Media retention deals (post your haggling successes)

I also received the same email in Feb as you about applying existing discounts for another 12 months. I currently pay £21.04 per month for M350 (volted) and weekend chatter and the contract expires in a few days.
I had put in 30 day cancellation nearly a month ago but got no call from retentions. I had an offer some weeks ago in the VM app for 250MB (125MB volted) for £20p/m but it's disappeared.
I called VM inbound retentions (02037436970) and they said the prices had gone up so it's now £22.66p/m for rolling month contract. They offered:
- £23p/m to keep existing services for 24 months with £4 increase in April 2027.
- £21p/m for 250MB (125MB volted) + weekend chatter for 24 months with £4 increase in April 2027.
I'm going to make a decision - and am swaying towards the rolling month contract to be the best choice to continue with existing services and see if any other deals turn up in the coming weeks/months.

As a follow up, just had a VM call who claimed that Sky cancelling the switch (at my request) cancelled the new VM order as it's all automated. No good reason for no email or text automatically being sent out to advise of that of course, so it's all Sky's fault…

My contract is up for renewal soon, I reached out to their customer service team (via their online chat bot). Their first offer was more than I pay now and more than the prices they offered me online.
I tried to stick to the haggle tips and did not accept this offer, nor the 2nd with their next step being to cancel account once I’ve changed provider (via the one touch system).
I think I may have got carried away with my haggling attempts. I know follow up retention calls are not a given but I wondered if it would be worth calling them? Or do I follow through on my threat to change provider?

Unless you've given notice, either directly or via another provider, you won't get a call back.

Hi rambler1_2, when I renewed last month I tried to contact them on their 150 number and could not get through despite a few tries, so I rung 02037436970 which a few posters had quoted. I was straight through and just said my contract was coming up for renewal what could they offer to keep it the same but I wanted it to include Netflix. It had increased to £46.28 and she offered me it for £34, increasing to £38 April 27

Not sure if I'm getting soft as I get older, but I caved in as soon as retentions called me back. I opted to leave when the best they offered me on the live chat was £25 for basic M125 broadband. (doubled to 250 as I have an O2 phone)
The day after, I got a call back offering £21, which I took. No idea if they make more than one call with offers, so I'll have to wait a couple of years to try again.

I handed in notice 14th april and switchoff is 14th may.
250mb
Landline phone
They are offering it for £21 with orixe rises in april 2027 and 2028.
I called back couple if times but seems like previous agents leave notes on the account what they offered me. Shall i take it or wait for a new customer offer? Its the price rises im concerned about and they not budging on any credit

The only companies that don't do mid contract rises tend to be a lot dearer in the first place, personally speaking, if that's fast enough for you I'd take it.

I got M250, landline with anytime calls for £20/month (24 months), increasing to £24 in April 2027.
Was offered this in March (my contract was ending in May) just by calling them on 150 to see what they could do. I declined their first offer, asked about giving notice in advance (before the 30 day window) to avoid a penalty and was offered the £20 contract. The new contract started immediately in March, with no increase in April and even a credit because I was changing from a slightly more expensive deal.
DIdn't really need the landline, but it was in my current package and removing it increased the price!
