Virgin Media retention deals (post your haggling successes)

If your Netflix is the same tier then I would guess that like Sky, you log in with your normal netflix details and it should switch over?

Great thank you, that sounds easy enough. When I know Virgin have updated my account with the new contract etc I will log in and check.

Anyone else got this renewal offer? I'm currently paying around £15 a month for 125mb and that would bring me to about £13.50. Although link doesn't work and refers me to webchat, people on webchat don't know about the offer and when I phoned retentions best they could do was £21 a month. Seems strange…

Are you sure that's from Virgin? Have you since clicked on the link?

My thinking as well. Look at the address the email comes from - valid ones usually end with @virginmedia.com or @virginmedia.co.uk. Similarly, don't click on the link but go to your online account and see what is there. The price does sound about right though. Scammers generally come up with an offer that is too good to be true - because it is!

I think it's genuine. It's from email@em.virginmedia.co.uk

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious but where does it show an email address?

My current contract is for the Mega Volt bundle and is due to finish on 7th May. I currently pay £73.85 per month, including TNT sports which is an add on, that I don’t actually pay for, but get for free because I complained when they removed Euro Sports.
In my account now, I’ve got a renewal offer for £91.93, stating “Choose this deal and keep your current Virgin Media plan without losing anything”. This includes Volt Gig1 Broadband, which I don’t really need. Then there is a second offer for £78.07 that states, “Take your broadband speed and cost down a notch, with no other changes to your package ”. The broadband will drop down to M350, which I’m happy with.
My question is, will the new 2 year contract start from 7th May when my contract expires, or will it start the date I accept the new contract? And the reason I’m asking this question, is because the offer states that the price will increase to, “£199.08 from your April 2028 bill”. Obviously if the new contract starts 7th May, then it’s not quite as good a deal, because my last month will cost £199.08.Any help would be appreciated.

My new contract started from the day I accepted it and the discount applied runs until the contract ends in 24 months, so no unacceptable increase in the last month.
