To be fair that is not a bad price for BB. But yes you can possibly do better.bignred05 said:Had an email today via VM in relation to early renewal etc (contract up on the 1.May.2025)
currently paying £21.76 for M250 Broadband
Proposed offer is £25.46, going up April 25 to £28.96 followed by another April increase in 2026.
Thanks but NO thanks VM, I'll be giving 30 days notice early April1 -
Had our annual renewal offer email last week, three months before May renewal date
Mega TV, 1Gb BB, Sky Sports HD & UHD, TNT Sports, Cinema, NetFlix Standard, 2nd 360 Box, Anytime calls.
Was £58pm, contracted price rises Apr 24 £60, Apr 25 £64. O2 mobile contracts separate x 2 £8 each.
Offered £70.04pm, and Hub 5 upgrade
Cheaper by some distance than the equivalent new customer deal, which is usually my negotiating red line.
After so many years, Virgin seeing some sense in proactive existing custom retention.
I didn’t hang about in accepting this in case it moves against me, as others have suggested can happen.
Maybe there could have been wriggle room and, don’t get me wrong, I usually take up loads of space sharing my usual strong negotiating discipline here. I just took the view that a) this was a fair offer and b) our contract is probably now at the higher end in terms of content so there would be little to negotiate in.
Also we are looking at a house move this year and we were concerned that somewhere we were looking at didn’t have Virgin access. Raised an enquiry and had a call back yesterday from an engineer and talked at length. Very reassuring, gave me his mobile and email to reach out to if I look at any others.
All round good noises from Virgin this year.0 -

Blimey, I signed up as a new customer today for pretty much the same deal, but rather more money.Realgonekid said:Had our annual renewal offer email last week, three months before May renewal date

Was that the first call from outbound or did you turn down any offers on earlier calls from outbound?mits999 said:Outbound phoned offered and accepted

I got that without the 2nd box, calls and Asian mela for £55 last time out, now £58.25, so I’d be happy with that price area next contract renewal time. What was their initial offer on your account? I love the fact you are/were a Sky employee but are on virgin…says a lot, hahahamits999 said:Outbound phoned offered and accepted

Thanks but NO thanks VM, I'll be giving 30 days notice early AprilHmpffff.... Been paying £25 for M125+phone. Due to go up to £57 in April, so put in a cancellation. Now that City Fibre have done their thing in my area, there are plenty of alternatives for FTTP with prices starting at around £24.VM called with an offer of £25, so matching what I'm currently paying. Said no, quoting online offers from alternative providers. Final offer was £23 with no price increase until 2026.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Yes sky can’t compete with virgin purely coz virgin owns their own network, initial price they offered me was £80 I said I said to advisor I have o2 sim with unlimited data then he says £60 I took it straight away + he sent me Hub 5 which was a bonus upgrade from Hub 4PZ19 said:

virgin are making reasonable profits
sky are making masses of losses due to droves of customers leaving, sky paying a massive wholesale price for football rights driven up by TNT hence why sky are moving some of their departments offshore (India) and offering less discounts than previous years and fundamentally most people using IPTV
