The looking around has resulted in finding me a faster and lower cost provider, if I hadn’t been prompted to look I wouldn't have found them, so there is an upside to VM contract complexity and the upside is for ME.1 -
Sooo.. called VM today (just now in fact). (I am currently paying £23 for the M125 fibre only, no phone, no TV, 11 months remaining; price increasing to £30 come 01-May).
The automated system offered a discount of £3.50 for 6 months.
Stayed on the line, got through to an agent (not sure where based) which seemed not very interested or keen, but they went away to find out what offers are available. Was offered an offset discount so that the increase from 01-May would be cushioned to only increase by £1.60 to £24.60 per month.
Pointed out that this was more than what I pay now, plus the April 2024 new rises coming as per new T&Cs so stated that I wasn't happy with this, then was put on hold, agent came back stating we can offer you a contract renewal for another 18 months at £33 per month.
Declined on the basis that this is not good value either and then left the call (the agent made a point stating that I'd be calling back, which I confirmed to then be sorting out the leaving).
Overall disappointed with this since my first renewal last year (was paying £24, contract running out to increase to £40+ was renewed eventually renewed at £23 by a very sympathetic agent in Scotland).
I'll mull over and will try again at another time, but has anyone had any experience with calling multiple times for haggling?
Thanks

If I were you I’d place the cancellation then during the cancellation process ring the outbound retentions team and see what they can do the numbers been posted multiple times on the thread so you should no trouble sorting it out.1 -

Would a kind soul confirm the right WhatsApp number for me (I've found this one online: +447305 327 112)
I've gone back 10 pages in this chat and searched another forum post one on VM to no avail; and I cannot seem to find this posted on the VM website (at least not clearly).
Thank you0 -

I used WhatsApp +447305 327 112 in June last year, and got a good offer from them eventually, but the "conversation" took 3 hours 45 minutes!
One good thing about using WhatsApp was I was able to send them screen shots of other offers that were available to me.1
