Cancelled my virgin broadband a week ago and they haven’t phoned which I’m quite surprised about they normally are pretty quick to call and offer a better deal I guess they must be busy phoning other people who have cancelled my marketing preferences are 100% on.I have a 4G Vodafone gigacube I paid outright for so if they don’t get their skates on I’ll use that with an unlimited data SIM card as I get 5G here so can get over 200mbps on it.
I would phone them but I don’t really like the idea of a built in price increase unless they offer a deal I can’t refuse.0 -

If you have someone else in your household and only need broadband/phone you can just get them to sign up as new customer and cancel your current plan.

I’m at a similar junction. Gave cancellation notice following the price increase letter.
Maxit TV, 250MB, Sky Sports, Weekend Calls. £64pm going to £85.Outbound Offered another £65pm 18m contract on same package only, and said I was already on their lowest package, so take it or leave it. In fact they virtually ended the call at that point, not me!
So, thoughts?
1. Is it that good, anyone getting that much more for less perhaps after a similar impasse?
2. Has anyone ever had outbound retentions come back again, after giving a take it or leave it offer?0 -
We are paying £145 (going up to £175) for the full package with Sky sports, BT sports, Sky cinema, phone, fast fibre broadband and multiroom. Sky quoted £100, rang Virgin to cancel and they offered a £30 reduction which I refused. They rang back the next day and reduced our package price to £90 pm.
Haven’t decided what to do yet. Will go back to Sky and see if they can match or better as really want Sky Atlantic.1 -

Not sure about whether outbound will come back again. If not could cancel your cancellation then re cancel to trigger another outbound call to see if you get a different offer.0 -

I think I’ll hold out until the eleventh hour, and see if an email pops up; I’ve read some have had these. Less inclined to uncancel/cancel. Can still always inbound to outbound and hope I get the right person.
Don’t think my OH will let me let it switch off altogether, which is a shame!0 -

Currently £54 a month for M350 BB (Volt boosted), Maxit TV, Talk Weekends, V6 box and a TiVo box in a second room. Due to increase by £15 a month with the price increase. Spoke to retentions today who offered a £15 a month discount until my contract runs out at end of July, then price will jump to £85 per month. Declined that offer and handed in my cancellation. Will wait for the call and report back.1

Just had my letter from Virmin. Currently on landline (weekend only calls) and 125Mb fibre for £23/month and they are adding on £7/month increase!! That's over 30%!
Started a whatsapp chat straight away to put cancellation in. Will update later.0
