the last time i did the cancellation 30 days notice request thingie, they actually disconnected the telephone line within 24hrs but quickly put it back on and gave me a better deal.
bit paranoid this time, has anyone ever put in a cancellation request and got their landline number disconnected permanently?0 -
I don't have the landline phone connected - utter waste of money charging for it.martinjohn said:the last time i did the cancellation 30 days notice request thingie, they actually disconnected the telephone line within 24hrs but quickly put it back on and gave me a better deal.

My phone line was disconnected the same day I gave my 30 days notice. Virgin said they couldn't see a fault and booked an engineer to come out the following week. The next day I accepted the offer retentions made me and my line miraculously started working again, without an engineer visit!martinjohn said:the last time i did the cancellation 30 days notice request thingie, they actually disconnected the telephone line within 24hrs but quickly put it back on and gave me a better deal.

Been on to retentions again....as was being disconnected in a few days.
Most they could offer is £55 a month:
200 MB Broadband
Maxit TV
Weekend calls
They wouldn't budge.
To reduce the TV it would be be £64 and to just have BB was £50 - and that was the best they could do with any discounts.
Utterly random prices to what I have seen on here.

I was offered a better deal about a day after putting in cancellation from outbound but sat tight. I called customer services and they put me through to retentions team as was getting cut off in a few days.victor2 said:fondue said:Been on to retentions again....as was being disconnected in a few days.

The 'secret' holy grail final point of contact when you put in a request to leave (outgoing) who can offer the best deals (retentions) after youve gone 5hrough the previous nonsense stages of asking for a fairer deal.whattochoose said:
