Virgin Media retention deals (post your haggling successes)

Best bet could be to cancel your cancellation and then give 30 days notice again in a day or two to try and trigger another outbound call?fondue said:Been on to retentions again....as was being disconnected in a few days.
Most they could offer is £55 a month:
200 MB Broadband
Maxit TV
Weekend calls
They wouldn't budge.
To reduce the TV it would be be £64 and to just have BB was £50 - and that was the best they could do with any discounts.
Utterly random prices to what I have seen on here.0 -
Gave 30 days notice on the 6th May.Heard nothing, so on the 14th took out a new contract with NowTV - Due to be installed on the 2nd June.Just phoned Virgin to check they had received the request to port the number which they haven't - so that might explain why no call as yet. Any idea how long it takes another company to put in this request? Virgin said it's still showing as an 'open export order'.Sadly there was no 'why are you leaving' on the call!Edit - Phone NowTV, they said they would have to cancel the order and resubmit it to take the number across once the phone line had been installed. To save all the faffing around, phoned VM back and got the 100MB and weekend calls for £25. I know some have got it for around £20, but it's cheaper then what I was paying and saves a lot of hassle.0

*UPDATE*Had call today (within 24 hours or cancelling) and offered £22pcm for 100Mb broadband 18month package. Fine by me. Kicks in immediately.0

Seeing this makes me want to weep. On my last re-negotiation I agree to a monthly payment of £51, the only difference being I have M200 Fibre Broadband, something I realise now I don't need because, as a single householder, my broadband needs only extend to the use of a laptop and a smart TV.DJ_Malfranco said:Only paying £1 more than previous contract, so I'm not going to grumble too much.
One phone call to VM about my soon to expired contract....
Thanks to Malfranco for posting this, because at the earliest opportunity I will be telling Virgin Media where to stick their services unless they can offer me a big reduction on what I am paying now.0 -
£25 a month for M100 broadband only.
What does everyone think?0 -
Thanks Linz. I agree, Im blown away with the TP-Link too (+smarty unlimited £16) for such a small device and yes, very mobile! We have 10 devices connected, all running concurrently (though I believe you can attached upto 64!)linz said:
I did exactly this just over a year ago and my TP-Link has been fine for what I need. I like the fact I can take it away with me too. Virgin should send you a bag to send your router and leads back, that's what they did with me.spaniel101 said:Well....all ready to fall off the merry-go-round, this Saturday
. Have my TP-Link AC750 (smarty unlimited 30 day rolling) and Humax Aura 2TB set to fire up! TP-Link intentional measure as a stop-gap until I finally decide who were going with (will likely need Openreach to come out too anyway).
Do Virgin send you a box/bag to send the equipment back, and if so when ...or do I just parcel it up on Saturday myself ?
2 Ipad (1 pro)
2 Iphones
2 Smart TV's
2 Humax Aura's
1 Laptop
1 HP Printer
Im certainly in no rush now to find another provider!
Interestingly, I almost missed it, but Virgin sent me an email saying they are in my area soon and will call in to collect the equipment (2 TiVo's, Hub3), just had to book the preferred date via a link - 30/05/22 - so will see if they actually turn up!!

After reading your post and seeing your new contract, I rang Virgin to query the amount I negotiated about three months ago (£51). Unlike you, I have M200 fibre broadband (everything else is the same), but I don't think I need this, because I only use two devices. However, the guy I spoke to wouldn't budge, and said there may have been some extenuating circumstance(s) why you are paying what he said was such an excessively low price.DJ_Malfranco said:One phone call to VM about my soon to expired contract....Only paying £1 more than previous contract, so I'm not going to grumble too much.
I'd be grateful to hear your response to that, because at the moment I'm thinking that, despite being a Virgin customer for years, I now definitely need to be looking elsewhere when I'm able to.0 -

If they didn't give me a decent deal, I'd be off like a shot to someone else.1 -
Thank you for replying. I now know what course of action to take when I'm able to leave, without incurring charges.DJ_Malfranco said:I don't have any extenuating circumstances that command me getting a good deal from VMEvery time my contract comes up for renewal, I phone them up and hand my 30 days notice to leave and they offer me a good price to stay for another 18 months.
