Likewise. This is the first year I actually gave notice. In previous years a phone call was enough to get a reasonable discount. Retentions did phone me back and give me a decent offer to stay the next day, but my landline had mysteriously gone dead after I gave my notice and came back to life after I accepted the offer. It was just a "coincidence" was the official line from Virgin!

So that’s an outbound retention offer?  They called you back after you put your cancellation in?  If so that seems way too high.   The broadband/phone part of that was being offered at £22-24 last month, and the maxit tv is no real extra cost to them

Do virgin retentions try to ring on various occasions during the the 30 day cancellation period?

I began my 30 notice on April 18th, and had a missed call from retentions the next day. Since then I haven't received any further calls and I'm a tad worried I've missed the chance of an improved offer before my contract ends. 

I really want to stay with Virgin as where I live they are the only provider that offers anything over 30mbps, but the price that retentions originally offered was insane.

They sometimes call on last day of your notice period it’s about who blinks first
