I posted this in March....
"I rang Virgin today and spoke to a nice lady called Andrea. Negotiated a new deal. Before I was paying £47.50 (before the price increase). The new deal is £51 for 18 months for -
Mix TV with Virgin V6 box.
M200 Fibre Broadband (before it was M100).
Telephone Line Rental - Talk Weekends.
She told me this incorporates any price increases.
I suppose I'm reasonably content with this. It would have been nice to be paying something under £50, and sometimes I wish I had the gumption to cancel my contract and see if retentions contact me, to offer something cheaper.
But, I've been with Virgin for donkeys years, and mostly find them very good, so I can live with this new deal."
Having read some of the deals members have been able to negotiate I'm beginning to think I was too quick to accept Virgin's opening offer. When the next price increase kicks in, that may well be the time I cancel, in view of what I'm reading here.
Some of the deals, like BigBlueSky's, sound great, but is it my imagination, or have Virgin become ridiculously cheap if you threaten to leave?0 -

Not quite the case. They've become ridiculously expensive if you decide to stay and accept their automatic renewal.
Perhaps, but I never see such stupendous offers on the price comparison websites I look at.
Then again, perhaps I'm looking at the wrong sites.0 -
Had BB only 100mb paying £25 and decided i wanted tv due to moving into my own place so spoke to the sales team and managed to haggle the following:
Maxit TV
Sports HD
200mb
talk weekends
Price £66
Is this the best price i could have got or could i have gotten a further reduction?? i'll have a 14 day cooling off period so can utilise that if needed.0 -

I have a similar package but with Sky Sports HD added - currently £72pm, but is going up to £122 next month. Rang yesterday to see what deals they could do and the best they would offer was £92pm.
Having read how people have been able to drive the prices down substantially, I queered the price and they said that they are limited as to how many good deals they are can hand out every month and once they've used them all that's it until the next month - is that true, and if so when is the best time to catch them in a generous mood?
I went ahead with giving the 30 day notice as it was too much, especially when sky are doing a similar package for £62pm for new customers.
Will wait to see if I hear anything in the meantime from retentions again.

M500
Maxit TV

£71 a month
Took off Sim card we don't use, Talk anytime we don't use, Sports and Movies we don't use and saved £18 a month on the current price so that will do me.0 -
