Virgin Media retention deals (post your haggling successes)

Gave notice to leave as they couldn't even offer a discount to offset the latest price increase.Retentions called me up the following day with a reasonable deal of £41 for M200 and landline with talk anytime (which I do make good use of). New 18 month contract, but will have the option to cancel without penalty when they impose an increase next year. Not the best deal reported, but VM know nobody can come near their speeds in my area.

Got the dance over in one call this morning, not the best deal I've ever got but happy to be done for another year.
We were on the old Full House bundle @ £46 going up £5+
They offered Bigger Bundle @ £55 - I said I'd pay the new customer price of £45, he jumped at that. Job done.0 -
Complete nightmare for me so far.
Gave in my notice on 3rd January and lost by nerve by the 6th and called in to accept £67 for M350 BB and Mix it TV.
Literally 2 hours later I got the call from Retentions I'd been waiting for with a much better offer of M55 BB and Max it TV for cheaper than what they had offered!
I accepted and explained the situation to the caller who said his deal would override the other one. By Monday the 10th of this week I had heard nothing regarding the better deal, no new contract and no reflection of change in services on my online portal.
I called again and spoke to a number of departments who couldn't help, even when I mentioned the word complaint.
Understanding how their system might work I cancelled the 'new' £67 contract invoking the cooling off period and then re-cancelled my old contract.
I then got another call from outbound retentions on Tuesday of this week, again offering a better deal which I agreed to... low and behold over 48 hours later and nothing!
I have had nothing to confirm cancelation of £67 contract, whether my old contract is actually going to be turned off and on what date and nothing regarding either outbound retention offer I agreed to!
Anyone got any advice? Does it usually take longer than the 48 hours they state for the outbound retention offer to actually come through?0 -
Cancelled my M100 + Landline as it had gone up to over £40 pm.
Took about 40mins to get to speak to anybody!
The day after retentions phoned me and I accepted their offer of M100 + landline - £27 for 18 months.
Possibly could have got it a little cheaper (I was on my lunch break) - The retentions guy slagged off Vodafone Broadband (I wonder if it takes 40 mins on hold to speak to anybody?)0 -
We were on M200 broadband costing £42 about to increase to £45 in March.Rang earlier this week and managed to get volt 350 broadband for £26.24 for 18 months. Very happy with that.Word for 2023 …PROACTIVE 🧡 2023 -decluttering campaign 1020/2023 ⭐️⭐️Saving towards paying off car in November…£720/£1500 🚗0

Got a letter through today telling me about price rises from 1 March, from £20 to £23.25 for M100 Fibre Broadband (the £20 was reached with various discounts on their end).
If I do nothing the price is due to go up to £44 in June as the 18 month deal ends.
Trying to decide if it's worth phoning up now to discuss cancellation/a better deal, or to suck up the price rise and wait until May to haggle properly.0 -
Phone them and see if you get an automated offer of a £3 per month discount for 6 months, or the duration of your contract. You get that before you jump into the queue for a human. That's my experience anyway.

The dreaded letter has arrived, £3.25 increase for m100 only. I was paying £18 a mth, although £21.25 is still not bad (going off some on here) I don't think I've ever not managed to haggle it back down!
Should I bother? bit undecided at the mo!0
