have just cancelled by VM contract as they wouldn’t budge with the price. My Package £73 a monthMixit TV x 2 boxesM200 Fibre BroadbandTalk More Anytime
they offered £68 a month if we reduced phone (we don’t even have the phone plugged in anyway!)Waiting for them to ring now to offer me something to stay. What should I be looking for? I know as a new customer I could get same package for £47.99.I usually negotiate every year but came out of contract months ago but didn’t do anything as we were waiting for new neighbours to move in before we decided if we were putting the house up for sale or not. Everything seems ok atm so not planning on moving so need to sort prices out now.
Started the negotiations at £56.00 but then managed to get it lower.Said I wanted the £29.99 package offered to new customers I’ve seen online which she said she would do for me (mixit tv, 100mb broadband and weekend calls) with an additional £5 to up the broadband to 200mb, plus the 2nd box at £10 which she lowered to £7, so all in for £41.00 - oh and she threw in a free Drama pick aswell.18 month contract with fixed price, no price increase next year 👍🏼Guess I’ll stay …..0 -
Well done. Had an email today saying my bill for sim only was going down to £6. Saving me 72p a month without even asking .0

Have called the lady back on her mobile and she’s ignoring calls and texts.Tried Virgin and they’ve basically said I’ve got what she’s put me on so that’s what I must have agreed too so I’ll just have to pay the extra few quid and if I want drama added then it’s £12 extra 🙄
I’ve put a complaint in but doubt they’ll even respond.Any suggestions ?So frustrating- what’s the point in agreeing a deal if they don’t give you what you agreed 🤬0 -
Because the staff get a bonus if you stay with them so they will sort out a deal and pretend to give you an extra free. Once you have agreed the free bit disappears!1

Just another update, rang VM again today to cancel the contract so it’s within the 14 days and low and behold, they’ve suddenly found the notes which confirm it was agreed at £41 with the free drama pick. They’ve added the drama pick on and sent a request to the manager to add the additional discount to bring the price back to the £41 - so I will give them to the end of the week and if not sorted then I will be cancelling for good.Got straight through this morning, no queue at all which was surprising!Extra channels have now appeared so just need to wait for them to sort the contract out now. Hopefully They’ll just do as they said they would 🤞🏼0

mixit tv, 200mgb internet and my simcard with 15gb data at a total of £46 a month, is that any good? questioning it because TV channels that are offered are basic and i could get a sim card with more data elsewhere0

Hi, Not been on the forum for a LONG time as life events took over but looking to do some MoneySaving. been with Virgin forever and a day (since old Telewest days). Have "left" to negotiate good deals in the past, but a couple of years ago the ringbacks stopped. Since then, I've switched to Freeview through an aerial for TV, with a Netflix/Disney plus subscription satisfying the kids. All I want is phone and broadband.
Current contract ended in June and is £46.50 for M100 broadband and Talk Weekends which I know is too much. I'm pretty sure Virgin is the best broadband for a house with 2 adults and 2 teenagers so would like to stay, but what's the best way to get this price down and what should I be looking at? As I said, the "I'm cancelling" and waiting for a ringback seemed to stop - had it become obvious I was bluffing?
ThanksSkint: (adjective) The tendency to turn off the grill when turning the bacon.
Think skint - it makes things simpler0 -
