morning all
Just talked to Virgin regarding my £55 bill and showed them their own offers for new customers at my current speed - £34 pm. They dropped my cost to £42, so a moderate success, but ... this still strikes me as poor practise. I have been with them for 10+ years and surely giving someone new a better deal is discrimination? It feels like a poor car insurance provider all over again... Is there anything being considered by those smarter than me , to combat this marketing crap?0 -
I just did live chat, offered bigger bundle and movies broadband m200 and weekend calls for 74 pm and a 50 credit for first bill with 14 day cool off. I currently have maxit tv m100 and weekend calls for 65 pm. What do you all think ?0

Mrspixie....Think that's about 62 for newbies ? I guess it depends if you want movies. They gave me a pick of channel packages as a sweetener and initially I was happy, I chose documentaries. I'm fed up with them now, seems the same on every day jumping from one channel to another. I wish I had stuck with basic and I think I may have got a better price. My experience is that live chat do not give the best deals. You need to say no and hand in your notice for retentions to phone you back. They don't always phone back. Its a game of bluff ! Good luck with whatever you choose to do.0

My pet hate is discount for OAPs even though I am one. Then student discounts, massive discounts through work for some people etc
I've been with Virgin since Telewest days ., 30 odd years? Only realised a few years ago you could negotiate the price. I dread to think how much I could have saved if I had known.1 -
