Phoned again @ 8am today, asked the CS rep to read the notes and see how he could help resolve things.  he spoke to his manager and promised me a call back by 4pm.
Can you guess what happened?  Correct, nothing, no call back.
Seems like your desparate to stay with virgin if I were you can the services and wait for outbound team to call you within the 31 day notice if they don't call switch provider
That's the game I have to play every 12/18 months when the contract expires. That's what I did back on 11/Jan. I'm just wanting them to confirm that they will honour the contract offer they gave me when the "outbound retentions" rep first called me on 12/Jan.  This year is just harder than in the past. Another thing that can erroneously be blamed on "Covid".
However the solution appears to be to email the  VM Director of Customer Services, that got a phone call and problem resolution within 24hrs.
    Lesson learnt.

What’s that  address? I got complaint in with them about similar thing, get quoted one price, lose sports hd channels for week for no reason then get 2 contracts that have totally different number, and first bill is wrong.  Been almost 28 days since complaint went in, not heard anything
  • Hi Guys

On a side note how long did it take for outbound retention's to get back to you after you cancelled . I cancelled mine two weeks ago as the price shot up to much for me and so far no one has called me back.

    Thanks
    :)

I had the email  to say it was cancelled and goodbye within one day. Two days after  I received a call from retentions.
Have you had the email to confirm it has been  cancelled and a date  of disconnection?

There have been a few that never got a call back. Was it Lee ? Left it till the day before and then rang them. I guess you have to make a plan as to what you will do if they don't and what you will do if they do. Maybe they're very busy and will get back to you soon.

I cancelled on a Monday and was called on Tuesday. Other years it has taken a week or more. Worst comes to the worst you can cancel your cancellation and start over :)
I've heard tales online of people who haven't been called back but everyone I know in person has always been called with a better offer. In fact the guy who called me told me it was the only way to get the best price.
Or move to Sky or someone.:)

  • So if the worst comes to the worst, can i make a new deal with them and then cancel that deal a few weeks later ?  I'm thinking like a cooling off period which i think you have two weeks to do after you agree to the new deal. Then just hope they call me back...

    :)

You can call retentions 0345 454 1098 which is a chargeable number, ie not free call from virgin phone..and say you got cancellation in and just about to switch etc is there anything they can offer.  Have a price that you can get from Sky etc to quote them.  Or, you can call 150 and cancel your cancellation.  Every new deal has 14 day cooling off period I think

Yep! I rang retentions myself and got offered a decent deal (hopefully it works out because they messed my last bill up... I think!)
