You should, get a call back yes, 1-3 days after cancelling normally..should be in the 20s the offer i suspect. Obviously they don’t have to call you back thoughmy_definition said:
Thanks. I appreciate its a vague question but I've never actually cancelled before, normally been given a decent (ish) offer. We have no choice for fibre so it's making me a bit nervous.Bettie said:
You'll have to wait and see. That seems a very high price for 100 mb.. Im paying less for 100..tv..and phone with weekend calls. Sometimes having a package can be cheaper. If they dont phone you then maybe try ringing them and ask if you can have a package at a cheaper rate or try to negotiate a better price.my_definition said:I'm wondering if anyone has experience cancelling just the 100mb fibre? I was paying £35, they offered me £39 but it still seems steep so cancelled. Am i likely to get a phone call with an offer or is that it? We've had cancellation email. Thanks0 -
Doesn't always happen though. We've not had a call this time although to be fair thats the first time its happenedPZ19 said:

just been discussing this with Virgin and apparently its £6 per month to upgrade from 100 Mbps to 200 Mbps regardless of when its doneratechaser said:I'm on a decent M100 + talk weekend package - £21/month with most of an 18 month contract to run. I'm thinking it would be useful to upgrade to 200mb broadband - anyone got any idea what I should be aiming for in terms of additional costs?1 -
Just incase anyone is looking for a similar deal we just got a phone call offering £22 a month for 100mb. We're losing the landline but our house phone broke about 2 years ago and we haven't replaced it so very happy with it.my_definition said:I'm wondering if anyone has experience cancelling just the 100mb fibre? Result. Cancelled yesterday and was offered £16 per month for 100mb on a 18 month contract by outbound retentions today. Had previously rejected £17/m for 50mb. Very chuffed with this.3

no call for me this time so I expect it to be cut off tomorrow. Looking forward to riding the ADSL wave again.....and sinking into the depths of buffering and dropped zoom calls0

@latecomer Have you tried calling outbound retentions? I think the number was on page 231 and some people had success with it.
My back-up option was going to be the 4g route- either three home-fi or buying a 4g router and sticking a smarty sim in there for £16/m unlimited data with no contract. If you can get decent three 4g coverage at home this could be an option. I tried it and was getting around 70mb. Not sure how reliable this is compared to fibre but I'm guessing it would be preferable to adsl.1 -
I've not tried calling retentions although i've had a couple of web chats with various depts. To be honest I'm not massively bothered at the moment. Would like to line up the Sky and virgin packages contract dates so I can get rid of the duplication we currently have. we need a landline and unlimited calls due to how its used so ideally it would be virgin BB and landline with unlimited calls.JasperAlex said:@latecomer Have you tried calling outbound retentions? I have considered 4G router but as it would effectively duplicate the landline provision I'm trying to avoid it. Mind you given the ADSL is like 2 tin cans connected by string I could change my mind pretty quickly next week

I am due to put my cancellation in tomorrow for the 100mb fibre only paying £24/month just now so hoping they do have some sort of retention deals goingmy_definition said:I'm wondering if anyone has experience cancelling just the 100mb fibre? My deal of 100mb broadband and weekend phone was increasing from £27 a month up to £37 and then £52 the month after. Served notice of cancellation and 1 day later they called to offer me 100mb broadband for £22 a month (18 months) or 200mb broadband for £28. Took the 200mb option due to extended working from home.0
