I’m on 200 mb Talk weekend and Fun TV paying £66.96 going up next direct debit by £3.50. Any idea what I should be paying as am waiting for someone to pick up on the ‘thinking of leaving’ option. Have been out of contract for years when I last asked for a discount they said I was already getting a £3.50 discount about a year ago!0

DJ_Malfranco said:Hi Y'all...This is definitely worth a shot....Worked for me....This morning I was on the phone to Virgin Outbounds 0345 4541098These are the folks that give out the best deals in my opinion having had several previous dealings with them.Anyway, I rang them claiming that I hadn't had an email confirmation of my 30 days cancellation that I submitted a few days ago.
Spoke with a nice polite lady, who after jumping thru' a few security hoops, asked me why I'm leaving (been with them since the dial-up Telewest days) and if there's anything she can do to help me blah blah blah.... I explained to her that I can no longer afford to keep paying these increases now that I'm retired. My package is basic Mixit TV, M100 broadband and Talk Weekend landline (We dont use the home telephone number at all, just keep getting lots of different clowns trying to claim we've bought something off Amazon, or whatever the latest scam is...and of course being retired, sometimes if I can be arsed I play along with them, but eventually I get fed up with all the bull-crap from them and tell them to phuk-off...lol) that we are currently paying £28 per month, then the £3.50 price increase to be added on 1st March would then make it £31.50. We also had two discounts added on our account from previous negotiations which were due to expire mid-march, and would've put the package price up around £50+ so I told her it was a no-brainer that we can afford that kind of expenditure.
Without an ounce of haggling from me, she offered me the exact same package we're on for £26 a month with the price fixed for 18 months (new contract with 14 day waiver built in) and NO £3.50 price increase on 1st March
I tried to wangle the new 360 tv box as part of the deal, but she wasn't having any of it...what a shame.
So, the bottom line is for us, we've saved a couple of bob here and there for a little while, until of course the usual annual shenanigans of VM pumping up the prices start and we have go thru' with the whole rigmarole again.!!
Good luck everybody with getting a deal that works for you, whichever route you decide to take...0 -
Is there anything to stop my Mrs signing up as a new customer (good deal) If I get no joy when I ring them?
I am contemplating doing this as I've seen a deal which is effectively £19 a mth.0 -

Just spent an hour and 20 minutes waiting to get through to someone at VM. Then 30 minutes chatting to them - although they mostly talked about their dog being sick!! Anyway, I'm paying £28.50 for the basic freeview, phone line we dont use, old Tivo box and 100 mb. Price is going up to £45 next month plus the £3.50 increase in March. Lady offered me £35 which I say wasn't good enough so gave my notice to cancel.
It's very frustrating as last time I called up I was offered the £28.50 deal with out even haggling. Before that I had to do the cancel and wait for the phone call from retentions. I wish they would just give you the best price there and then without having to jump through hoops each time!
Last time I cancelled I didn't get a phone call until I started an order with someone else and put in a phone number transfer request. Hope they call before I have to go through that rigmarole!0 -
