Then in 2020, I was offered renewal at £24/month for another 12 month contract, and offer to switch one month early.
Now again in 2021, they are offering me £23/month and letting me switch one month early - but at 18 months contract on same 100 Mbps fibre plan.
I feel a £1/month discount is very low loyalty discount - but I don't have any benchmark to compare. So will appreciate if experts could share if this is a good deal. I am usually uncomfortable with 18 months plan but the person on phone said there is no other option.0 -

Is it worth ringing Virgin (retentions) up to see if they can offer us a better deal?
I am getting disconnected on the 23rd and have not had a call from them - i did get an email saying they have tried to contact me but were unable to do so (over a complaint)
I logged into my account online to try and view the offers and all i get is page cant be displayed.
I have looked around and I can get a better deal elsewhere all be it slightly slower which doesn't bother me really just that I could do without the downtime between switching.0 -
You cant lose by giving them a nudge. I was wondering if theyd made you an offer. I would call them and ask what's going on and why they cant contact you. Good luck.1

It was the sports package which pribably didn't include sky sports. Im not a sports fan anyway. Many years ago I remenber being on 3 for £30 with Virgin.. Or maybe Telewest. All these years later and Im still paying less.0

Hi Y'all...This is definitely worth a shot....Worked for me....This morning I was on the phone to Virgin Outbounds 0345 4541098These are the folks that give out the best deals in my opinion having had several previous dealings with them.Anyway, I rang them claiming that I hadn't had an email confirmation of my 30 days cancellation that I submitted a few days ago.
Spoke with a nice polite lady, who after jumping thru' a few security hoops, asked me why I'm leaving (been with them since the dial-up Telewest days) and if there's anything she can do to help me blah blah blah.... I explained to her that I can no longer afford to keep paying these increases now that I'm retired. My package is basic Mixit TV, M100 broadband and Talk Weekend landline (We dont use the home telephone number at all, just keep getting lots of different clowns trying to claim we've bought something off Amazon, or whatever the latest scam is...and of course being retired, sometimes if I can be arsed I play along with them, but eventually I get fed up with all the bull-crap from them and tell them to phuk-off...lol) that we are currently paying £28 per month, then the £3.50 price increase to be added on 1st March would then make it £31.50. We also had two discounts added on our account from previous negotiations which were due to expire mid-march, and would've put the package price up around £50+ so I told her it was a no-brainer that we can afford that kind of expenditure.
Without an ounce of haggling from me, she offered me the exact same package we're on for £26 a month with the price fixed for 18 months (new contract with 14 day waiver built in) and NO £3.50 price increase on 1st March
I tried to wangle the new 360 tv box as part of the deal, but she wasn't having any of it...what a shame.
So, the bottom line is for us, we've saved a couple of bob here and there for a little while, until of course the usual annual shenanigans of VM pumping up the prices start and we have go thru' with the whole rigmarole again.!!
Good luck everybody with getting a deal that works for you, whichever route you decide to take...
