I am thinking along them lines myself now! I've been with them since the early days probably 10yrs+ and it's a joke how they operate really.linz said:
haha, ive decided to see what having a mobile router's like. Getting a TP-link one for about £60 and the unlimited Three SIM deal from the weekly email. Three have a good reception round here and I think the speed will be plenty for just me. Plus I can take it away with me, and abroad i believe, too.leew said:Virgin have again sent me the same email as before saying can we convince you to stay blah blah and it lasts 1 week the offer @£27 a mth, err no thanks!!
It's really put me off them as a company, all this messing about they're doing, making up different prices as they go along.
The only thing putting me off is the speed drop going your route as i like to watch tv/movies online but in saying that i got buffering with virgin!

Gave my notice on Sunday, cancellations offered £25 a month, said no, Monday got a call from retentions, it was strange guy calling from his work phone, he offered same £25 a month with lots of crap talk about how virgin will guarantee no price increase for the life of new contract. Said no. Wednesday proper retentions rang, no hassle, straight offered £19 a month. Done deal. M100, was paying £23 a month. 10 years with Virgin using about 1TB a month in data.0

Has anybody managed to successfully haggle based on the new price increases announced this month?
I renewed our contract in Dec based on last years/contract price and was on the understanding that it wouldn't increase, I have now been told it'll be going up another £4/£5 a month, not impressed!0 -

I did read there was an automated way to do this via 150. In fact just called them for something else, go thru menu to thinking of leaving us and there’s an option to delay price increase for 6 months. Alternatively stay on the line and complain saying the deal you agreed was for fixed pricemr_scientist said:Has anybody managed to successfully haggle based on the new price increases announced this month?

I was on basic TV 100mb broadband and weekend calls £54 a month going up £3.00 in march. Phoned them today said thinking of leaving was offered upgrade TV to £48.00 a month. I declined offer as only really needed broadband. Settled for same package as already on for £37.00 a month after talking to lady from cancellations.ginge001 said:Hi all, my elderly mum is shielding and has asked me to contact VM for her to add broadband on to her package so that she can video call us. She is currently paying £29 a month for Mix Tv and evening/weekend calls. I contacted Virgin and they said to add M100 broadband would increase her package price to £53 pcm. Does this sound a good deal? I’m reluctant to leave VM as she is worried about using a new service and also VM said could take time for others to install due to pandemic. Thanks, Claire0 -

Can I ask, how do you know you use 1TB a month ?nardeeno334 said:Gave my notice on Sunday, cancellations offered £25 a month, said no, Monday got a call from retentions, it was strange guy calling from his work phone, he offered same £25 a month with lots of crap talk about how virgin will guarantee no price increase for the life of new contract. Its my pet hate when you give your 30 day notice, VM roll out how much mega amount of BB you use
yet when I query this with retentions, they say my usage is typically average.
also now our monthly bill makes a big point about "see how much you used this month" but I can't find anything under my account to tell me what I've used.0 -

if your on basic TV & broadband, you really should just cancel the TV package, as all the channels are available on your TV anyway, you are paying approx £15 a month for TV services. when you could watch all the channels on your TV or buy a freeview box for anything from £50-150 which will also record and get you all the iplayer, ITV, CH4/5 catch up etchatter68 said:
