They said it shouldn't,  no. So just gone back on the text to accept it ....snd I've been disconnected and put though back of the queue again! AAAGGH!!!!!! Enough to make your blood boil this lot.
    A further update...
Sunday came and went with no response at all and this morning (Monday, day eight ) I've got the usual "Do you still need help?"

Is this some sort of sick joke that VM have set up or what? My patience and my relationship with them is wearing very thin now.
    Great ain't they!!
Expect a email about a very slight reduction and for it to say the offer lasts a week... I did!

No, they are not scammers, but the ARE a company that I would literally choose to watch white paint dry on my wall for entertainment than pay them a penny or get anyway involved with them.

Update - they called with an offer of £25 a month to keep me as a customer (M100 broadband only). Said no, i'd seen Now Broadband offer for £22 that I'm going to switch to as that's what I was paying with Virgin and I can't afford for my bills to go up.
He asked what price would keep me, i said £20. He said they wouldn't be able to do that but has gone to ask his manager if they could do £22. I said I'd stay for £20 but would think about it if it was £22 again. Awaiting another call in about 30 mins.

Mmm. They always keep me on the line when they toddle off to see a manager. At least you've had an offer. If you accept I wonder if yours will go up in March...

Shouldn't do. It'd be a new contract. Already had the email last week about my current contract price increasing.
I forgot to mention the Shell Superfast Fibre I was also considering (effectively £17.25 per month once the £68 bill credit has come off for a 12 month contract) so if they come back with a better offer i'll try for a bill credit too.

Good luck linz, did you ever get an email like this one below:
We’re really sorry to hear you want to leave Virgin Media. Before you go, there’s this amazing deal we’re hoping can change your mind.

If you stay with us for another 18 months, we’d like to give you M100 Fibre Broadband for just £27 a month for a whole year.¥ Then standard pricing (currently £51) after that.

This offer is valid for one week from this email, and only available online. We hope to hear from you soon.

Still not called back. Maybe i insulted the manager with my cheapness lol. I'll probably end up going for the Shell Superfast Fibre deal if I don't hear anything back.

EDIT: they called back. 'Having spoken to various managers and regional managers, the best they could offer was the £25 a month.' So that's that. Bye bye Virgin.

I guess you need a landline for  Shell?
Whichever one I research has bad reviews so I asked a friend what she used and she said 3 mobile which had horror stories but shes very happy with it and no landline needed. Plus its cheap. But neither of us download much watch films or do gaming etc
