Well guys and gals, finally managed to speak to someone @ VM using the number posted on here and I was quite impressed didn't manage to work hard at all, I think with my leaving date being tomorrow it played a big factor to be honest.
Nice chap on the phone, no messing about offering me £18 fixed for 18mths, was happy with that so took it straight away! reckon i could maybe have pushed it but thought nope that's a good deal

I have just began my 30 day notice with VM as of today as they were offering me £4 off my current subscription and a reduction of the bb speed from 150mb to 100mb, The package price was recently increased by £10 as I came out of the fixed contract and lost a 'loyalty £10 discount'.
Basically I was happy with my package and price point and wanted it back to where it was at 45 a month for a package consisting of min phone , Medium TV and 150bb but they could not help do it for me
Will be interesting to see if retentions deals exist and if I get a call from them at all soon0 -

Good luck to every one else, don't be scared to take it to the final days like me as I think that does play a part in getting a better deal.0

Currently paying £65 a month for Maxit TV with sky sports HD and M200 which would have gone to full price next month (£115)
So I cancelled yesterday and got a call from retentions today. After asking a few questions like why I was cancelling/what I’d been quoted etc, he then without any messing about offered what I currently have for £59 a month. Which I’m happy with.
I’ve also got them to swap my box for the TV 360 😎0 -

Thanks for the pointer on calling outbound retentions.
I didn't event want the landline, just broadband really, the normal cancellations team said it was still cheaper to keep them bundled and the best they would offer is M350 + phone for £48 or M500 + phone for £54.
Outbound retentions were happy to unbundle and offered either £28 for M350 on its own or £34 for M500. Was happy to stay with those numbers1 -

This included a upgrade in TV package, so get sky plus all the documentary channels (?) and excludes the price hike in march. Wasn't bothered by the extra channels but glad the price is only 50p more than what I was paying for the last 18 months.
I have found over the last two times I've done this it seems to help to sign up to someone else and initiate the phone number swap. This seems to get VM's attention and they call you. You can then just cancel with the new supplier as part of the 14 day cooling off period.
Just curious if you got an email confirming the new deal? I wanted to add BB to my existing TV and phone package and was quoted £45. I put my cancellation
notice in and was called by retentions and offered M100, mix TV plus drama pack add on, and w/end calls for £29.99. It would mean a downgrade from my Mix package to Mixit but guy said he would throw in the drama pack for free so I accepted. Received the contract today and no mention of drama pack add on. Called VM and they said there was no record of the call and I shouldn’t have been offered that deal. All they could offer was for me to pay and extra £5 per month for the add on or lose the channels. The guy also didn’t mention there would be a £35 activation fee which I see is currently being waived for new customers. VM said they won’t honour that either.
Sorry for the long post. Am so fed up with these cowboys.0
