I don't know what sport, maybe Cropstar does, I chose a different pick. Maybe retentions told me porkies as he said everyones would go up in March, even his, there was no getting out of it...
I was happy with £29 with a £3.50 increase so I agreed. perhaps I should have held out for a better offer..

£29 for broadband 100mbs.. Weekend calls and tv minimum package but as a sweetener they chucked in a choice of tv extras.. Sport or drama or kids  etc.. I appreciate it will go up in March but Im happy with what Ive got.

Thanks for highlighting. Just got the same deal here. Had to threaten to leave, signed up with Sky and then got a phone call a few days later.
It shouldn’t go up in March. The price you agreed with retentions is the fixed price. As a matter of interest what Sport did they offer? BT Sport?
I called yesterday and was given before and after prices for an offer, so perhaps inbound retentions can't override the price rise.

Despite selecting 'thinking of leaving' the first person I spoke to didn't seem to be in retentions, as they then transferred me to 'cancellations' when I declined the first offer.

I'm now awaiting a call back from the outbound team...

Ah if you didn’t put cancellation in then yes your price will probably increase. I think you can postpone that if you ring 150 and follow steps to thinking of leaving us and there is automated option to postpone the price increase for 6 months

I cancelled twice 🤣 first time i negotiated and  accepted price then the email came with a different price so i cancelled again. They then rang me where we discussed the price and the March rise. I did think about ringing 150 to get the 6 month stay but it doesnt sit right with me as I agreed the price rise. I must be getting soft in my old age...
  • Thanks to this forum and the advice on cancelling I’ve managed to get a much better deal than I thought I would.

I used to pay £37 per month for Maxit TV, 200mb broadband and 50gb SIM card - which was going to go up to £95. Rang to cancel and was told £50 for 200mb broadband + sim so just cancelled and placed an order with Sky. Got a call back yesterday and was offered 200mb broadband + 50gb sim for £27 per month which is perfect for me as I don’t actually have the TV box plugged in as I just watch Netflix / Prime. I haven’t received a confirmation email yet as the guy who rang me said he had to send it off to admin to get it processed which is a little unusual but let’s hope it comes through soon.

It took two days for my email to arrive. Some are working from home so probably do it differently. Well done on your deal

Well done does take couple of days for new contract to arrive
  • Has anyone tried the cancel trick on behalf of someone else? My mum wants me to phone to renegotiate her contract which is going up (but doesn't want to change supplier). I should be down on her account as authorised to deal with it (I set the account up for her), but I wasn't sure if that extended to cancellation.

Get her to go thru security and explain to the person on other end who you are and she authorises you to deal with it in her behalf

It was a bit of a hotchpotch of channels. Pretty much all the documentary channels in SD/HD, some of the sky basics like Sky1/Arts in SD, Comedy Central SD and HD, I think Eurosport was in there but not BT Sport.
