First time I've had a price less than what they offer new customers, I did mention that I was going to sign up with Sky with Sports, HD and their fastest (cough) broadband for £57 after cashback the first time I called.
Wish they would offer the best deals the first time I call, I'm happy with the service but I'm willing to put up with dodgy broadband for 18 months if its saving me £50 a month,
Similar length of time as you. Would be willing to move elsewhere but they’ve always offered me a good deal after cancelling so never needed to leave thus far.0 -
For those of you cancelling and getting calls from outbound Retentions, are their calls to your mobile or to your Virgin landline? Mine have historically been to my mobile but for some reason last year was to my landline (did not change any settings or anything so not sure why).0

Was on Broadband only contract with 150MB (legacy deal) at £41.74 after last discount expired. Progressed cancellation.
Call within 1 week for VM reducing to 100MB at £29 as best price. Did not accept. I called with 6 days left on my notice and was told the previous deal s all I'd get, so happy to cancel.
1 day before termination, I called moving home department by mistake (pressed wrong option number) but after some chat agreed to add on 7 days onto my notice (buy me some time) and was transferred to another dept who'd be able to help with deals. (Should have asked what team it was)
Explained what I was wanting, offered the following after some chat. BROADBAND ONLY.
150MB 12 months at £23.74 plus £20 credit
200MB 6 months at £26.50 then next 6 months at £30. Plus £30 credit.
Renewed at 150MB at £23.74 as was roughly same as my last deal price. £18 per month saving on full price.0 -

My cancellation period runs out in four days and I’ve not heard anything back from virgin in terms of a renewed offer. Starting to think I will have to back down as Sky/BT offers are pitiful in comparison.0

Put my cancellation in after turning down offer of £74pm for Maxit TV, sky sports package, 100MB, phone (weekend calls).
Call from outbound loyalty team the following day and agreed £57pm (same as last year) for the above but with 200MB rather than 100MB.0 -
Gave my month’s notice a couple of weeks ago and had heard nothing. Checked my e-mail account today and there was my offer to stay with VM in my Spam folder!
Been recently paying £76 a month for:
1 x V6 box and 1 x Tivo box in another room
Full House TV
150MB broadband
Talk Weekends
E-mail offered all of the above (Full House now called Maxit) and an increase to 200MB broadband for £49 a month for 12 months.
Accepted and very happy with that result.
So if you are waiting for a call, remember to also check your e-mail and spam folder!0 -
M200 and Talk XL £42 up from £22 last year.
So re-negotiated yesterday via outbound retention.
Cancellation inbound, offer £48 no discount but offered £30 credit. So put notice in.
Outbound retention 1st call, the next day. £45 no credit.
Outbound retention 2nd call, week later. £38 no credit, took it.
This year they seem ruthless, no budging. Has anyone left VM with refer a friend credit and received it back after via a cheque.
They told me, they wouldn't refund this credit, is it true?Love Saving others Money0 -
Cancelled giving my 30 days notice on the 28th September. No attempt made to retain my custom, absolutely fuming to see today, they are offering new customers offers £27 cheaper than I'm paying now!!! I've already ordered Sky, but I'll be on the phone to them tomorrow!0

To what point? Unless you're prepared to cancel the Sky order within the cooling off period you're just wasting the customary 30-45 minute wait and then another 30-45 minutes getting shunted around departments where nobody actually understands you. All that just to find out that they still can't give you the price you're looking for? Just move on and save the stress.0
