Are you paying line rental in addition to the £200
-
My package is Vivid 100 Fibre and Talk More Anytime @ £37 pm over 12 months.0
-
I was paying £58 per month for:
Landline
100mb BB
Tivo box with freeview channels.
Called them up and they offered me two options:
£59 per month and have Full House TV + above
£2 decrease for same package as above.
Called them again & went straight through to disconnections and was offered:
£46 for existing package with £40 credit.
£53 for existing package with TV channels to 'Mix' (with £40 credit).
I have had a look at the listings and am not interested in Mix channels. I will probably go for the decrease in price to £46.
Do you reckon I could get better if I said that I will cancel?0 -
Recently came out of contract so cost went up to £51 pounds for:
Player Bundle
Virgin TV with Tivo
Vivid 100mb broadband
Landline with weekend calls
First telephone call went through to sales.
Asked nicely that could we get the price down. Was offered £46 with a better package 200mb broadband. I said no I need to get price below £30. He said he couldn't get any lower so put me through to what I thought was disconnections. He also gave me another number to call back on "in case I got disconnected"
After a 10 minute wait I was put through and this time the operator "was not authorised" to give any discounts, I said I will go ahead and switch to one of your competitors then....she said sorry and there was a long silence so I said goodbye and hung up.
Called back on number given previously and got through to an extremely helpful person in disconnections. I said I was going to cancel, and got the price down to £35 to which I agreed. Happy with the result.si0 -
I cancelled my VM services this week, after being on a deal for the last 12 months. I'm off to Now TV unless VM come back with a better deal.
The agent I spoke to said to me 'I can see that the outbound retentions team called you last year with an offer, that wont happen now as that team no longer exists'.
Is that true?0 -
My 100mb broadband and weekend calls contract from last year's retention deal (£25) was due to end and got offered the following deals, asked for a few different options as like to pick not necessarily the cheapest deal but the best value:
100mb broadband only £28 month with £60 credit (effectively £23 month)
100mb broadband and landline weekend calls £31 with £60 credit (effectively £26 month)
200mb broadband and landline weekend calls £34 with £60 credit (effectively £29 month)
Went with the 200mb as I get double speeds for only £3 extra, happy with that.0 -

Ive just been told they dont exist too as they have all moved over to inbound sales haha
Ive given 30 days notice after being with virgin for 13 years!0 -
So last year managed to negotiate the following for £40 pm (up from £35):
200 mb fibre broadband
Full House TV
Talk Weekends
Just had the following retention offers:
- £55 pm to keep the existing package
- £50 pm to downgrade to 100mb
I declined and they said they could add a £60 credit, effectively making existing package £50 pm and the 100mb option £45 pm.
I've still gone ahead and cancelled. Let's see what happens! May have turned down a very good deal there but the tactic worked for me last year, so let's see if I get the magic call in a few days' time.0 -
So that was quick - got the call today!
Only issue was the representative offered the same deals as the person I spoke to last night.
I eventually went with:
Full House TV
200mb
£49 pm
I removed phone as we don’t use at all.
They also offered:
Full House, 100MB, no phone for £44 pm
Mix, 200mb for £38 pm
Mix, 100mb for £33 pm
Debating whether to drop down to 100mb on broadband but we have a few devices connected at once and I use for work sometimes, so nervous it’ll be too slow to do all we need it to. It is only two of us using though :undecided0 -
I pay £63.46! Fun TV L, broadband 150 optical fibre, Talk weekend line rental. I’ve been out of contract quite a while, so I phoned today and spoke to India I believe. Three people said they couldn’t do anything as I was already receiving a £5 discount. Then went to retention’s who still wouldn’t do anything. I should have tried sooner but now I have to decide what to do. The engineer who installed my new TiVo box today said I should give notice then come back as a new customer☹️0
