I’ve been offered £82.25 12 month contract for full house tv and sky sports, 200mb broadband and talk weekends. Is this any good or not? We want to keep the sports.

As a comparison on Virgin's website they list the Full House Bundle with Sky Sports and 200Mbps internet, Talk Weekend for £75 a month for 12 months (for new customers) then £100 per month afterwards.

In my view you have been offered a good deal.

If you are happy then that is all that matters. Personally it seems expensive to me, as it is more than the new customer offer? As a new customer you can also potentially get Cashback of £200+ if you time it right (I closed my account and my wife joined as a new customer ;))..

I’m currently on the same except 100MB broadband. Am paying c£53-54pm so yours does look expensive. I agreed mine with outbound retentions towards end of last year, if I recall correctly the best that inbound retentions offered was about £67pm.

My package is Vivid100, Tv mix(1 tivo box) and talk weekends costing about 50 odd quid a month, About 2 or 3 months back I called to give notice which they accepted without offering any reductions. I never got a retention's callback in the following 3/4 weeks and I ended up cancelling the cancellation with about a day to go before cutoff.

I think they might be randomly singling out some of those who have been playing the game and may have a blacklist of customers they don't want to bargain with. Again I think it is random because it seems like there are some in this forum who are still getting decent deals year after year. I don't know if it is worthwhile for me to have another go later on this year.

That sounds much more like it, I’m not even sure how we’ve ended up with 200mb to be honest. I never use my landline, I presume the rententions people will call my mobile as well?

Yep they will call your mobile as long as they have that number on their system.

Also if you are a high user, seems they give great deals to low end users.

They let me go without offers, 2 years ago I had to cancel my cancellation. This time I have left and now waiting 3 weeks without broadband for BT to install a line.

It does seem to be the general feeling at the moment that VM are less invested in keeping heavy users with decent deals but what constitutes a 'heavy user'? On average I download less than 5 gigs a month which in these days of streaming, I think is not a lot. I really don't want to cancel but I might actually go through with it the next time I give them my notice and come back l2 months later as a new customer.

5GB per month is certainly not a heavy user. I would classify a heavy user personally as 200GB or more. I tend to use just over 100GB a month, but don't do that much streaming, so would consider my usage as pretty average.

    I

'm a very heavy user. Apparently average 900gb a month. They called me within two days of cancellation and offered me £22 for 200mb bb.
