Glad you got the vet sorted!
All sounds positive so far.Know it'll still be one day at a time for a good while, but look how far he's come.

Are you chucking him treats into the cage? He's definitely been watching things going on outside for a while and is snuffling around his pillow.
[yes, I'm watching DaveCam]I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
He may of been sat on his food bowl by then Jojo. But he can hear us outside the room and wants to know whats going on.
So little update, Davecam has been off most of the day as he wasn't there.
He had his long awaited appointment at Langford for xrays to see if the operations and rest have worked.
Yes they have. Although there is nerve damage at the rear end as when he stands his back legs cross over, but he is now aloud out into the room and only his room.
So we have a little time relaxing on the bed and the little minkey jumped off the bed and hid under the bed... although he is one for his treats and after tempting him out he went back to his crate.
He is unstable but nobody told him so he is trying to race around and do normal cat things..... freedom is going to be hell for us not him.
So baby gate on order the one that is extra tall, but i still have my concerns that he will try to escape, the whole thing will be chicken wired so that he can't slip through the bars.
So vet said no climbing or jumping and he's broken 1 rule already
I'm sure when my son was a toddler it wasn't this hard was it?0 -

Pickles chirups or pirups muppette it seems to mean 'hey, you give me a love'0

I'm so glad that your boy is doing well and is now allowed out of his cage!0

So finally the babygate got delivered today.
Husband home late due to traffic and says gate can be installed tomorrow, no problem i say.
But little Dave has better idea's being a bit of a live wire tonight, has climbed onto his crate and then jumped down.
Panic, so sent husband in to put up gate, once that is done crate can be dismantled.
My fudge shop just opened this afternoon, so busy with orders, stresssssss
At least whilst son has been in there he now knows what it is like to look after something that's just learnt to walk aka don't have kids son this is what it's like 24/5 :rotfl:0 -
Webcam is down for now.
We need to figure out where to have it where it doesn't show son when he is in the back room (my old craft room).
Dave is definitely Free range, the crate is gone, he can wander around his room, actually he has the whole top floor.
we only let him out of his room when we are there.
Babygate is yet to be installed, but using it as a barrier at the top of the stairs, but we have spindals on the banister that twice he got through, first time found in kitchen, second time in the garden :eek:
Definitely like having a toddler who's just learned to walk, barricading things0 -
Update.
Well the baby gate has been no deterrent for Dave to escape as much as possible.
It was the side bits that we were convinced he wouldn't get through but he did. we used cardboard - he shredded it.
We 'think' we have the solution those very thin flexible chopping boards (plastic) interwoven through the bars have been up about 10 hours no and no escape.
We also had to buy a small dog harness so that we could put Dave on a lead and take him for a walk out in the back garden for exercise.
That wore him out and he has been happy and calm since.
These past 10 days has been like having a toddler in the house again, I think it's also put son (21) off having kids too (no bad thing)
The things we have had to do to keep Dave safe
