I think that it is down to a story being run in a major newspaper pushing traffic volumes. I went on late last night and it was lightning fast.
I had trouble putting in my readings on Saturday but I persevered and they went through OK.

From a purely selfish point of view, I woudln't mind if they did go belly up. I think I'd have more chance getting my credit back via that route than getting it back from Iresa.

I've made mistakes before, but signing up to Iresa is right up there with the biggest. Glad its just my electricity with them and we get our gas from someone else

Tried to add leccy meter reading just now ,but still getting 503 error

EDIT Tried again just now - but now coming up with website temporarily unavailable message.
  • Their prices are not bad, but service is terrible. Three times i have had to contact them & three times they took well over a week to reply.
Today, the website wont let me enter my monthly meter readings & this has happened quite a few times, so i end up with an estimated bill.
The ironic thing is i have a smart meter, but they dont have the facility to remote read meters.
I personally think they bit off more than they can chew & i am now looking for another supplier.

I would read the last few pages of this thread as you are switching. If you are in debit by literally any amount, they will block your switch. If you feel your usage might take leave your account in debit by the time the switch has completed, make a one-off payment and ensure that it is distributed across both accounts. Or if one of your accounts (for example, electric) can afford to transfer some of it's balance across to your gas account, do so.

If your account is in debit by even the smallest of amounts, Iresa WILL block the transfer to another provider. Only once you have satisfied Iresa that your accounts are in credit, will you be able to transfer.

Also make sure your meter readings are up to date. But remember, Iresa's systems cannot handle more than one reading per month.

Blimey, you are doing well. I have contacted them 4 time s and never received a reply to any of my queries.

My contract is up at the end of April and I will be off as soon as I can. I don't need to add any payments as I am far too much in credit. Even if I don't pay anymore between now and the end of my contact I will still be in credit.

I'm sure that little detail won't stop them blocking my swap though. Really can't wait to be shot of this bunch of useless you-know-whats.

I see Iresa have removed their freephone number from their website.

For anyone wanting to phone them it is 0800 433 7812 (freephone) - taken from https://www.saynoto0870.com

    Hope this helps

Is it correct, each time you reply to the ticket it gets put back at the end of the queue?

That's what they claimed to me in an e-mail which they sent to me in response to my continually nagging them to sort out a problem (like you dating back to October last) about which I had opened a ticket.
  • At the end of the day it was this site that recommended this company, so i am not sure where my trust lies now. Think i will ask for personal recommendations from users from now on.

Just had a message from ombudsman that Iresa are refunding my whole outstanding credit at 31 Jan. Received 4 e-mails from Iresa refunding it as 4 separate payments of 3 x monthly payment amount and 1 smaller one to make up the balance. All showing as pending on the payments page.
And the refunds have hit my bank account ;) Now sitting at 1 month credit with 2 days to go until billing.

Refunding you has obviously tipped them over the edge:rotfl: - the accounts web pages are still unavailable so can't enter meter reading.
I'll read the meter afresh tomorrow and try again!!
