Come what may, you are fully protected by Ofgem’s Consumer Levy. Any Supplier of Last Resort would use the readings that you provided to your new supplier (once validated) to close your account and raise a Final Bill. Your credit balance is 100% protected.

I accept this but it's still a pain for customers if they go under. You were wise enough to move away a while ago, I was wise enough not to join them after you directed me to read this thread. I just feel sorry for all the customers who are going to have the hassle of sorting things out if they go under.

I wouldn't start panicking just ride with it, I was with GB energy when they crashed and just went along with the switch to Co-op Energy and then moved to Iresa. If they survive I'll stay with them to the end of my contract and then see what's available. I'm only in credit to them for a few pounds anyway.
  • 1st post since joining MSE 3 years. Welcome!!! :hello: :T

Are you saying the readings you have submitted are not included at all in your bills?
Are the readings you submitted shown on your online account at all?

Why are you leaving soon? Have you found a better deal? Who was that with?

    Yes.
    Every month I submitted readings.
On January 26th it shows on my account a reading I submitted.
On January 31st it shows an estimated reading LESS than I submitted, and was billed on, I think!
I say that because I cant download my bill for that month, its just looks like trash. I can download previous months ok.

Trying to go to Eon V8.
    They say its cheaper.
Surely they cant be worse than these clowns. Wonder how long the £300 credit on my accounts will take to come back.
Anyone done a Director search, did you get an email address?

I would re-check your comparison. E.oN v8 is well down the list.

I agree with some of what you say.
I will always try to comply with anyone if it makes it easier for them.

I haven't seen anything that says to enter a meter reading 10 days before billing date.
I did send readings in before I was emailed for them, but thought " as they are sending emails then that is when they want them".
  • I just went for a Big name.
Didn't want any grief like trying to contact Iresa.
Its supposed to save me about £58 a year.
    We will see.

I have open tickets from October last year which still hasn't been answered. I wish to raise another unrelated query but Iresa's site won't allow me to open a new ticket it says I have to continue the conversation on the open ticket.

Bearing in mind they haven't answer it in over 4 months what's the point of adding a completely different matter to an existing ticket with a different subject header?

Is it correct, each time you reply to the ticket it gets put back at the end of the queue?

Just logged into my Iresa account.

It was slow getting in and the site is running slowly but it is there.

Now it will not go anywhere other than the main account page. Maybe due to high traffic volumes?

Keeps coming up with this error.

DataTables warning: table id=dataTables-electricity - Ajax error. For more information about this error, please see http://datatables.net/tn/7

    Now its down again.

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

I think that it is down to a story being run in a major newspaper pushing traffic volumes. I went on late last night and it was lightning fast.
  • I have just received an email from Iresa saying they will be taking the usual direct from my bank account at the beginning of the month. This is despite me being told by an advisor that Iresa wouldn't request another direct debit due to my account already being in credit and my request being completed before direct debits are requested.
