With so many people possibly jumping ship from Iresa (if they manage to) then the irony might be the drop in customer numbers could lead to shorter call queues for those that are left. Maybe they just had more than they could handle and weren't that good at coping with the demand. Will just hope that being one that's staying put for now that they keep going anyway and can report back in the hope they do (for mine and the others staying) what the call queues are like in a few months down the line when many people might have opted to leave when their 1 year flex 4 has ended.

Realistically I would have to think you get what you pay for and I'm still content not paying for massive call centres (many abroad) with horribly disjointed communications between departments and support a small company here in the UK where even if messy at times they are liable to have more potential for better internal communication as I believe they're all in the same place(?)

I can also reiterate a story I've posted on here before where I was bounced from pillar to post by one of the big 6 going from department to department in the major misunderstanding I'd just moved house. It was nice not having a long wait to get through but every person I got through to just transferred me through to someone else who was just as useless and confused... So in essence for the sake of not being stuck in a long queue I had the joy of speaking to lots of useless people in that same time I could have been in a queue...
I think there are pros and cons and potential for good experiences and bad experiences with big and small companies but still doing ok with Iresa at the moment.
I'm with Bristol Energy for my gas though as they're cheaper and Iresa were known to have issues with calorific values and as a small company they're really good.

Yes they are a shower ans I would love to switch, but who else come even remotely close to matching the price?

In our case, because our gas consumption is more significant, we should actually save £10 a year (!) on Tonik Green 7 compared with Iresa Fixed 5.

Iresa is cheaper for elec but dearer for gas compared with Tonik, but Tonik give £40 dual fuel discount on top. Need to check rates include VAT as Iresa don't always include when quoting.

As they say, you pays your money and make the choice that suits your criteria.

My thoughts, the MD -a software engineer- cannot resist tinkering and just messes up each time he does; whether its getting gas calcs right, billing right and the latest -raise DDs and, if in debit, run an additional DD, he just cannot get it right. You cannot mess around with software when there's 1000's of people dependent upon it. Get it right in the first place or regret it.

I'm amazed just how much grief people will put up with because the price is so low. I'm not with Iresa - I joined this thread to check them out in case my current supplier puts prices up.

However, after reading all the problems many people seem to have, I have discounted moving to them. The amount of hassle and worry customers have had mean that for me, it's just not worth the potential grief.

As a previous contributor had posted, having to check your online account daily and spending ages on the phone in a queue to speak to someone would not be a good use of my time.

If I have to move (no plans at present) I'll consider the next cheapest after Iresa.

Your credit may well be protected if they go bust but do you really want to put yourself through the worry and grief of that should the worst come to the worst?

The writing's on the wall - read it.

I think there are some lucky ones that don't have problems and in any case you're more likely to see people warning about negative experiences than anything and it does seem the case that a fair number of people have had problems. I think as long as you get set up ok with Iresa and it starts off well and you tolerate oddities in the online accounts that might be the MD using it as a bit of a sandbox then the savings might be good.
For me personally I have to seriously watch the pennies and thankfully have just got with Iresa and things have gone ok but I know when people have had issues and needed to get things sorted they have had problems but for those that haven't had problems and needed to contact them so far it's been minimal effort to save a fair amount.
For me I'm just saving money and keeping my fingers crossed really, a gamble I know and some might think it crazy and it might go belly up but happy to just see where things go for now.

I’ve been with Iresa now for 10 months.
    ....
If you’re thinking of changing over to Iresa my advice would be not to touch them with a barge pole! I’m certainly looking to go elsewhere.

10 months and you are still looking to go elsewhere?

When will you take the plunge and spalsh your cash ???

In the time it took you to create your user id, let alone then post here, you could have switched already

    Good luck!

From reading posts on this feedback thread, it appears the vast majority of customers posting here are sticking with this cheap supplier through thick & thin... ;)

My 12 month duel fuel switch with Iresa ends in March so will be switching to another supplier shortly as Iresa will be more expensive by about £50 per annum. Presently shown as in credit but Iresa have ignored my gas meter readings for the last three months and are working off their lower estimate.

Who are you moving to that's cheaper? I can't find any half decent company that's cheaper than Iresa still.

One select, who's feedback is similar to Iresa, is £108 per annum cheaper so don't see the point in not switching. There are at least five more who are cheaper than Iresa but have no feedback. Admittedly these are all new start ups but Iresa hasn't been operating that long and their negative feedback is very poor.
