I have two phones on a contract with CW/id, mine and my wife's. I arranged roaming through the CW branch manager but had no service when I went to Madrid. When I returned I was told that id had not done what was required, it would be put right, compensation of £20 off my next bill. When we went to Lisbon we had no service. I rang id who said I would have roaming within 24 hours but it did not happen. I rag id who said that the appropriate adjustment to the settings on my account had been made and they would investigate why we could not use roaming.
When I returned I complained, was given the usual bland assurances, my complaint has been escalated but after some six weeks I have heard nothing. I am waiting for the mandatory eight week period to expire so I can raise the matter with the ombudsman.
It seems that the basic contract is for the supply of services in the UK and that roaming is an additional service which id are not obliged to supply so I appear to have no contractual rights. The CW branch manager has tried hard to help but has to work through a helpline: there is no back door for CW staff to fix problems.
I just want to tell id to go away but do not want to be left with another 20 months of contract obligations. Has anyone had any similar experience or have any suggestions?0 -
Roaming has always been an additional service (subject to status) on all networks.
Sometimes a network will ask for a deposit or refuse to activate roaming if your credit score isn't sufficient or require you to be a customer for a prescribed period before they will activate.
ID are correct that it isn't a core element of the contract, your only hope would be to prove you asked for the contract to include roaming before you signed up (and the salesman agreed to include it) and you could then have a case of misselling against the salesman/branch.====0 -

My vodafone contract expired so i decided to purchase a 1 month contract with ID Mobile(which uses three network) @£7.50 a month (250 mins 5000texts & 2gb of internet)
I thought all had gone through fine and then this morning I checked my emails to find i had been rejected saying.
"Sorry, but we are unable to process your order (83706928).
Unfortunately you didn?t meet the credit check criteria required for the contract you requested."
I checked on https://www.noddle.co.uk and my credit rating score is 630 and a 5/5 rating which is described as A rating within the top banding indicates that you are usually unlikely to be rejected when applying for credit and can typically take advantage of the best deals available in the market.
In the past i have had multiple 2 year contracts with vodafone & three mobile and have never been rejected for a sim card or phone contract before. I owe no money to anyone apart from on my mortgage which has been paid every month and is upto date. In fact i am looking to overpay on my mortgage.
Why would i be rejected for this its £7.50 a month and includes a £5 cap therefore the most they could stand to lose is £12.50 if i didnt pay for one month and fled the country.
I would just go elsewhere but i cant find a similar deal for as low a price.
Also if there is some kind of issue i probably need to resolve it prior to remortgaging in the near future.0 -
ID mobile may be selective as to who they want as a a customer. It's nothing against you specifically. Try another company.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Your Vodafone contract didn't "expire". Either you cancelled it with 30 days' notice, requested and used a PAC (unlikely if you haven't got another sim) or it will rumble on until you do.0
-
i have a pac from informing vodafone that i wished to cancel and told them unless they offered me a better deal i would be leaving which they failed to do. Therefore i used my vodafone sim until it expired0
-
If it expires your contract won't end.0
