While it has the chanel 5 logo, the wording "can't pay we'll take it away" could be problematic for them. From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
Hi, I've had exactly same letter today after 3 years of debt recovery plus letters after stopping at Humberside airport for 4 seconds, this one with the channel 5 and fancy logo looks more official

Only one page and it still has the addressee's name on it; (unless it's a false name)0 -

Yeah, it's just a debt collector, but there's still plenty of complaints about it being misleading. "Can't pay, we'll take it away" on prime time tv only deals with bailiff actions and reposession, so it's unlikely the general public understand the distinction. By even mentioning the show and catchline, they are trying to form an association that doesn't exist - that if you don't pay up, some guys from dcbl will turn up and take away your tv whilst adding hundreds onto the bill.
That's definitely worthy of complaints to the CSA, IPC, DVLA, Channel 5, Watchdog, and your local MP.
This is the same company that's been trying to escalate the collection charges in order to apply for a high court writ so that they can do exactly that.0 -
The CSA have been found to be the most useless regulatory body known to man, they make the IPC look legit.I do Contracts, all day every day.0
