some people have got far too attached to win7. just let go. very hard to argue a case for keeping something you don't own"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

A predictably dull answer.
It may have been but you seem to confuse buying and owning a laptop with the software you install on it. you don't have to use any version of windows. You can upgrade to Win 10 but if you don't want to and the persuasion annoys you there is software to avoid this. Your problem seems to be that you want to whine about it but not actually take effective action.0 -
Fanboi, singular. Fanbois, plural.

It's always wise to make sure you are on solid ground if you are going to start playing the pedant.
At least now i know it is a derogatory term used by ignorant people who are incapable of putting together a logical, factual or coherent argument to back up their weak or fallacious stance.IITYYHTBMAD0 -
I had been holding back on W10 (was on 8.1) but last week found it had loaded automatically.
First impressions are good - undoing the mistakes of 8 and 8.1 - start up seems faster and better desk top and File Manager is back.IITYYHTBMAD0 -

It's good to hear that you've actually learnt something. Happy to have helped.0 -

Your reading skills could do with some work. What I was complaining about was that Microsoft seized control of my property at a time of its choosing, without allowing me to wrest control back and finish my work that day.
Can you imagine if Ford did the same to your car (assuming you have a car)?0 -
