Will this happen again?

"If you click on OK or on the red “X”, you’re all set for the upgrade and there is nothing further to do. "
So don't dismiss the popup by closing the Window with the Red X, those sneaky !!!!!!s at Microsoft treat that as accepting the upgrade.
Is it any wonder many of us don't trust them?0 -

whereas I am waiting to giggle at the first post complaining when ms start wanting a monthly fee to update and keep using W10......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
I have an old laptop. It keeps offering Windows 10, but I'm quite happy with 7.
I also think the extra memory needed for 10 would make my old machine run slowly- could anyone confirm that?0 -
why should win 10n need more memory than win 7
is that an official statement , or one you heard on the webSave a Rachael

I downgraded one of my PCs from XP to Windows 10. It does boot and shut down faster. Apart from that I have not found any advantages. It does freeze for maybe a minute occasionally but then continues which is very irritating. I was hoping to use it as a media server but it didn't work well so I have had to install other software. My other machines are happy on XP. They often install updates when I turn them off. Who are they from? I suppose they are all really insecure now - could be from any criminal. I have just asked my 17 year old daughter if she wants her PC changing from Windows XP - no chance she's quite happy with it.0

And while I usually ignore childish, churlish and disingenuous arguments from halfwits the above is pure common sense and nothing to do with 'fanboi' (note the correct spelling).
Fanboi, singular. Fanbois, plural.

And to think I said I wouldn't argue with fanbois. Well I won't from now on, so feel free have at it.
I said nothing about Microsoft or Windows 10, I was addressing the very specific point of ownership of computer software. I am about as much of a Microsoft "fanboi" as Nigel Farage is an enthusiast for the EU.
