We have reduced the price by £25.000 since we had 30 viewings, basically priced to sell though we have some leeway and can reduce further if someone made an offer.
We are already the cheapest detached property in the area as we have moved away for work - so need to sell up to move on.
It's only been back on the market for over a month with 2 weeks of those being closed off due to improvements being made on the house, garden sorted, it's just been a long process that we thought we were at the end of and have had to start again.
It's hard not to get down about it.
It`s not "priced to sell" if it isn`t selling surely? Are you expecting to make a profit on it?0 -
Lisa I think the things some people expect from a three bedroom house vary but go up to and including
swimming pool
state of the art kitchen
no near neighbours...and a host of other things not advertised in the brochure.
The house we wanted to buy has been taken off the market because the vendor is so sick of low offers that he won't accept.0 -
Well, we had four viewings over the weekend.
Three of them came back and said to much work to do for them and one offered £185 (we have it on for offers over £190)
Apparently one lot of viewers said its smaller than they were expecting ??(not sure why as it has four double bedrooms etc)
Ours is the cheapest 4 bed in the 5 mile area by some £30k0 -

If I were in your shoes I would accept the offer and thank my lucky stars that I have an offer in this financial climate.
I can see more people offering much less as time goes by.0 -

Are you not even considering the £185k offer?
We accepted £10k off our asking price and were more than happy with that.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Thanks but we had 3 EA around and all said it would go for well over £195k so am happy to hold out for a bit.
185k will get you a 3 bed in a not so favorable area of town.0 -
Who in their right mind believes EA these days?0

Could you not counter offer with £190k?
If 3 of the 4 said too much work but the 4th is happy to take it on, post-Brexit I'd personally certainly give it some serious thought.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

You've got to factor is the EAs will tell you that to get you through the door as a customer.0 -
