I've just signed with the agent to sell mine (East Hampshire area). Board went up Friday and photos done yesterday, to be approved tonight.
I've opted for an Open House at the end of this month. That way I don't have to keep constantly tidying up, booked the cleaners to come and do a thorough job including carpets the day before. I've also booked the dog into kennels for 48 hours
From just the board there are 4 people booked onto the Open Day and 2 viewings booked for the evening before open day (so will already be tidy).
Fingers crossed0 -
Good grief!! What a nightmare time you guys and gals are all having. It's filling me with dread. I'm selling again next year having purchased only last year (moving Wales to Manchester) and am busy intermittently doing the house up with new floors, paint etc, among holding down a full-time job and taking care of animals, all single-handedly. Cleaning is driving me batty! I think I'll have to buy in Manchester before selling this one as there's no hope in hell I'll be able to keep it to viewable standard if I'm genuinely trying to sell it, not while the animals are here.
Good luck everyone with your viewings at the weekend0 -
I couldn't get back on to post but still no viewers. The EA came out on friday and said the property had only been on a week and to stop worrying. I phoned today and the lady from the EA who had come round on friday is on holiday this week the young man I spoke to was rather vague and said it had been matched with 5 people and he would chase them up. He said he would speak to the manger later as he was in a meeting. Am I being to anxious or do you all feel that they could be doing more. The property is on for a good price for the area.
It probably depends on what is normal for your area. I asked a similar question a while back - search for "is my estate agent doing a good job" and many people said you should expect a lot of interest in the first couple of weeks but then it may die down as they'll have exhausted their database. Sounds to me like your EA is only targeting people it thinks are interested, which is good, but a blanket mail out probably doesn't hurt! I take it you're on Rightmove and Zoopla?0 -
Good luck Anna1977. Sounds like you're having a much better reaction than most of us so I'm sure you'll be making progress too.
I'm still hopeful that something is going to come of my last set of viewers, who seem really keen but need some time to sort out their affairs. Not going to get excited until I get am actual offer from them though, as we've had this before and either they've found something else or made a terrible offer and not been proceedable anyway. Argh!0 -
I love the idea of getting all the viewings done at once.0

I've had my house up for sale for almost two weeks and had 5 viewers but no offers yet. Another house in my street sold within 2 days back in February, so I'm starting to wonder what's wrong with mine!
Good luck to everyone else0 -

That just happened to me, tooI feel your pain
Spoke with the agent yesterday and we've agreed to reduce the price. Onwards and upwards :j:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Bad news both of you.
We have dropped our price again but nothing has changed.0 -
The serious buyers tend to see the property on rightmove anyway. Hence the rush in the first few weeks for viewings.
Beyond that you are waiting for people who start looking for a property. The e-mail spam from Estate Agents doesnt help matters. Most buyer would have seen it on Rightmove and already discounted it.0 -
Some good news for us finally. A week after the 2nd viewing the agent called yesterday to say they'd emailed an offer on Friday night. Apparently they couldn't see their financial advisor, hence the delay, but we'd more or less given up! We did a couple of steps of house buying tango and managed to get the offer up a little, and we've accepted it. Fingers crossed it doesn't all collapse as this completes our chain.
. How is everyone else getting on? Any luck?0
