Lovely weather so stayed in garden today with company dd and grandson. Paddling pool even made an appearance but seemed to have run around all day after gs as dd still recovering from nasty virus. Cleaned, did a bit painting, hoovered and washed my car before they arrived. Lazy lunch ham salad, corn on the cob, sausage rolls. Went for a walk after they left.
When I washed my car underneath windscreen wipers was a rose, excited secret admirer. However turned out to be 80yr old dog walking friend. Gutted.
Today was a SFD , yesterday I took dress back, did buy some trousers and food/house items. They worked out nearly same cost as dress so counting it as SFD. Went for walk yesterday and ended up sheltering out of the rain in friends house. Took a while for it to stop and few glasses of wine.:rotfl:LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -

Evening all,
Ended up having a spendy day as bought a new plant for the garden and some slug repellent. Turns out the dogs like to eat slug repellent, it's only a natural wool based one so hoping it doesn't upset their stomachs and one of them ate part of my new plant whilst I was digging the hole for it. Dogs (and slugs) and nice gardens obviously don't go together!
Happy because of my new plant filling a big gap in my raised bed.
Frugal because I ate all meals from stores.
Kind because I donated a months worth of dog food to my local RspcaLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Morning all,
Have nearly finished the month!
Have been MIAwent to London this weekend and stayed with my friend. Was a lovely weekend but very spendy! my payday is the 19th so stre he's into next month. Think I will cancel something planned for the 11th to stay within budget!
Going to have a day at home today. Guests checking out soon then none until Thursday so I'm going to deep clean the guest room and kitchen and also mop all the floors. I've got original Victorian floorboards so they are battered and have darker patches. Means they don't show the dirt but I know they are filthy!also going to pack for my holiday on Friday
Very annoying the weather is now so rubbish as I've got bedding and towels from two sets of guests that need washing and I'm going to have to TD the towels and use the heated airer for the bedding
Will be a low spend day today as I need to go to savers and get floor cleaner, toothpaste and toilet roll. Will also pick up any food I need before holiday from tesco express. Need to do an inventory first. I will take it on holiday so I can meal plan for when I get back as I will need to batch cook that weekend.
Enjoy your day:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Morning all,
I was up bright and early with the intention of starting my examining but for some reason they haven't uploaded my papers yet. However, I have out a load of washing in, tidied away the dry washing and put Spanish chicken in the slow cooker for tonight's dinner. If they don't send the papers soon I'll end up cleaning the house too
Today will be a SFD I'm not going anywhere except to walk the dogs but it's currently drizzling so will leave that until later. I have again ended up with too many planned expenses as its half term and all my socialising seems to cram into one week as term time is too busy. Will have to jiggle budgets and may need to cancel some, although one is an exercise class so I'm determined to keep that one.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Good morning,
had a lovely but mixed weekend. Had a friend round for a few drinks on Friday night. Well, let's just say Sat morning on my own with the two kids wasn't pretty (DH was at a weekend-long stag do). Peeled myself off the couch at 10 am and started getting things done and having fun with the kids (although at times they really tested my nerves, why do I have to repeat everything 5 times, grrr).
Told myself this weekend I will only do things I want to do rather than the normal chores. And it was great, feel so much more achieved. Got the car hoovered. the grass cut, one tree cut down, one tree completely removed incl roots. Got some hanging basket up at the front of the house, more flowers in, more veg seeds in and some for the kids. Did a small shop, had the kids at the play park etc. Sore and tired but not the least bothered about the state of my carpets or bathroom (don't worry it's still hygienic and cleanish, but in my head they needed done). Result. These things I need to do anyway before next weekend properly when we have family round for dinner. Feel a lot less overwhelmed because I got the garden moved forward and it's been playing on my mind. So starting to get into the swing of next months challenge. I always seem to be busy with hamster wheel chores (relentless hoovering, washing, dishes IYKWIM) and then not having time for anything else --> feeling like I never get anything done despite working my @rs3 off. So if possible, chores will take a step back now and gardening and getting the house right will tie priority.
Sorry rambling.
Hopefully going for a run today in the sunshine at lunch.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Hi all,
Me again! Just a quick question. Do I recall someone one here painted their kitchen cupboards? Was it you Thrifty? I am thinking of doing mine but not sure how hard wearing it is or what to use (I don;t want to use chalk paint as think it will get marked from grease even if waxed)
Thanks
Ps just paid £120 off my cc, willbe the last payment this month. Unless I get any more bookings then there will be no payments next month except the £250 regular amount:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -

I think I used B&Q matt everywhere paint (also for wood) as it was not our forever kitchen, just a temporary fix (if it would be forever I would have paid more and sanded properly, but then I was 9 mo pregnant and couldn't be bothered :rotfl:). I also used B&Q primer underneath as it was dark cherry wood. It is fine to wipe down etc but gets chipped at the fridge door handle and other handles that are used frequently or where drawers aren't aligned properly and chav against each other. But as I said it's just a temporary fix and if done properly would last better. I just touch it up now and then.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Nearly there Turtles.
It's been a manic weekend, and we're away for a few days from tomorrow so this may be me signing off for the month. Thanks everyone for all the kindness and frugal things.
