Morning turtles!!
Quick stop off from me. Another NSD yesterday and that'll be the same today!!
What has made me happy?
Having clean surroundings. Wither it's my work desk or the kitchen. Love the feeling of arriving and leaving it clean.
One thing I done for someone else?
Made breakfast in bed for my GF.
Frugal tip?
Goodness, I'm beginning to run of these...Less is more when using cleaning products. Only need a little drop to make a big difference.
Have a wonderful day everyone.0 -

As DS will be starting school this August, the nursery is already giving back the deposit. It's a £100. First thought I'll put that on the CC but I'll wait to see what the after school club does in terms of deposit or yearly admin fees.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Yet another NSD here - must be up to 19 or so now. That's what being poorly for 3 weeks does for you!
I have been on the receiving end of a lot of kindness from work colleagues this week, and could not have managed without their moral and physical support. I work with some absolutely lovely people!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

NSDs are almost non existent here this month. Food spends are more than sig shows, but budget still looking ok. Have sold £15.20 (net) of things on ebay and also a sofa for £35 so have technically made the £50 - BUT money for sofa isn't coming until next month (sold to a friend) However, I have accepted any extra shifts at work which I've been able to fit in as they've been offered, so have made some money there (eventually - when payday finally arrives!!)
Kind - listening to people offloading their troubles, staying behind at work to help with things a& getting in early to try and make sure everything is sorted (not necessarily being paid for these small bits of time, but team morale has been a bit low in the one place)
Frugal - have done some YS shopping. Will tidy out freezer over half term (yeay - can't wait!!!) and make sure inventory is up to date so we can make the most of it - still a small amount of frozen fruit from last year to use up, so I see some apple and pear related baking on the agenda!

Hope the cat is okay.
Feel like I have been away for ages. So fed up with my internet provider, they have slipped up and expect me to pay for it, so was trying not to use them until I had decided what to do about them. very frustrating phone call the other day (Tuesday) but have managed to get to the library and write and print out a letter to them today.
Builders came yesterday and phone and router were unplugged so plaster could be hacked off those walls (repairs to dpc) and never bothered to plug them back in. Just looked at my e-mail and they asked for feedback on Tuesday's phone call and how satisfied I was - oh boy did they get it (less angry than I was but so much more lucid).
DPC injections have been done. Eight bags of discarded plaster bagged in rubble sacks (got them to use up some of mine - have been used multiple times). Mr and Mrs Builder loaded them into car to take to the tip so I asked if they could take the electrical waste as well - about 20 items (one potato sack and half a rubble sack) have left the building.
Boiler man stopped to chat with Mr and Mrs Builder and ask for directions (he lives in a town about 10 miles away, thought he was coming to see someone in our town but was in a village about 7 miles away). He had come in to see what the builders were doing and I asked about a problem with my boiler. He fixed it there and then and wouldn't take any money. Result.
Before the builders came I had cleaned the bathroom (whilst I am keeping it for another week and a half) and as it looked like rain, I bagged up all the quilts and pillowcases I had washed (now on top of the piled up furniture in DS3's room).
The onions left in my sack needed tackling so started chopping and have a bag of sprouting tops to use as spring onions and nine boxes of blanched onions (about 8 small onions in each) in the freezer - to be used in next months batch cooking. Two boxes of carrots joined them. I have now filled all the freezer space made by getting DS2 to take away DS3's ice cream stash.
Today was the history talk on Vikings so travelled to Borough town. Plasterer can't come until next Wednesday and builders are waiting for the bathroom panels to come (doing jobs elsewhere) so I'm hoping to force myself up the ladder and make a start on painting DS3's room. After the talk I thought I would try their branch of Wilco's to buy some of the specialist paint I need but they didn't have it in stock.
I tried very hard to spend some money. I had decided to have another look at a full length t-shirt dress I saw last month. I have had a similar one before and found it very useful (looked smart with minimal effort on days I wasn't feeling great and could be used as a nightie when it wasn't fit to go out in). Decided if they had a colour other than black I would get one. They had it in navy blue - which was hanging next to a tunic dress in blue multi (very pretty and swirly but would go great over leggings) - and they were on buy one, second one half price.
Then thought back off, think about this first. Went to the toilets. Went in TK Maxx - very eclectic, variable pricing, thought about a boden top but didn't love it. So finally my purchase of the day was - 2 packets of pegs. Which I needed (well only one really but will keep the turquoise and grey pegs and put the red and purple ones in DS3's 'bottom drawer').
Came home, finished another book whilst journeying which went straight in the charity bin at the library, written letter to internet provider, printed off something else I needed, paid a bill, put away some of the dried clothes and bedding, updated signature (intending to carry some of the overspend into next month).
What made me happy - Viking talk, someone telling me she liked my dress (bright turquoise, bought it at Christmas, thought it wouldn't fit me (some lycra content), tried it the other week and lots of compliments on it - everyone notices the colour so all the little folds in the fabric must be doing a good job of hiding the folds in my body (I only glance in the mirror and the colour makes me feel good), playing games with a small boy on the bus.
Good deed - holding/ wedging doors open.
Frugal tip - smile and ask nicely. Sometimes if you ask for advice on how to do something, people help. On Tuesday I was early for meeting DS1 so I travelled an extra bus stop to use the public toilets intending to walk back. Toilets have been sold and turned into a post office. So had to into the Town Hall and ask there (even though signs said no visitors and there was a private function on) and security guard said yes.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

This amuses me - do not be afraid little Turtles. I come in peace. Without a wedding ring I might add..“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
