My OH who moved here from the South had never seen mushy peas.
Or black pudding.
Or tomato sausage.
I'm a southerner and I don't think black pudding's unusual. (ETA Possibly what's unusual is that I also like it as a cold meat.)
When I lived in Manchester for a while years ago I was surprised not to be able to order different sorts of fish at the chip shop although perhaps things are better now.0 -
