We have black pudding down south a lot - it's very popular served with scallops.
I have no idea what tomato sausage is?????
There are some rather usual combos mentioned here
Chips & gravy
Chips & gravy sandwich!!!!!
Fish & chips with beans.....
Mashed potato with a roast dinner.
I'm a purist - like like salt & vinegar on my fish & chips.
I like mint sauce on lamb only.
Ketchup is for burgers, hot dogs & chips - nothing else.
Another odd combo - growing up every Saturday dinner/lunch at my grandparents' was (tinned) soup with chip shop chips in it.Georgiegirl256 wrote: »No! Better soft, but not quite mush!
It was only fairly recently that I found out veg isn't poisonous if cooked for less than 3 hours. Shortly afterwards, I found out that I quite like peas, which along with spinach don't always come from a can.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

I know that lots of people dislike them though! For Sunday dinner (every 4 weeks or so,) we have a dozen button sprouts with a bit of mash, some gravy, a couple of parsnips, a couple of roasties, a bit of chicken, some mixed veg, a spoonful of stuffing, and a mini Yorkshire pud!
I like mustard too! (Occasionally.)
Sounds like us! Feel like getting a car sticker printed up saying "Sprouts are for life, not just for Christmas!" :rotfl:Another odd combo - growing up every Saturday dinner/lunch at my grandparents' was (tinned) soup with chip shop chips in it.

Reminds me of a weird combo I used to like (but haven't had for a while), pot noodle over chips!0 -

My American DIL was amazed by mushy peas.
Malt vinegar is essential for chips, not those skinny French fries, either.
Tomato ketchup on fried eggs, rare thing, but brown sauce is too sweet.
We were out eith friends last night. Six of us, four had starters, one had extra sides, but did share, no desserts, three coffees and one tea.
It was a take your own bottle place. No one sat there with a sad face and we spilt the bill equally after a lovely evening.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
Hmmmmm, defo ketchup for me. Brown sauce always tastes like mince pies to me.
I think that they both contain dates or figs. I like mince pies, but I don't want anything that tastes like them on an egg and sausage sandwich!cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -

So was Peter Mandelson (allegedly;)).0 -
Oooh, sprouts, must get mine on to boil asap so they're ready for christmas.:D0

Oooh mustard with horseradish sounds fab, but I guess it came from a small specialist place?

I bought mine from one of those shops that sells short date stuff but apparently ASDA have it for £1.00.
Plenty of choice here:

Lemon, garlic & white wine one sounds nice.
I think this is a geographical thing.I have no idea what tomato sausage is?????
It's sausage with tomato (puree?) in.
Us locals can have deep and meaningful discussions on where to buy the best tomato sausage from.
Anybody not local (OH, friend's wife) just don't 'get it'.0 -

So you've never had chips & curry sauce??? With a sausage on top?
You don't know what you're missing :rotfl:0 -
