I think this is a geographical thing.
It's sausage with tomato (puree?) in.
Us locals can have deep and meaningful discussions on where to buy the best tomato sausage from.
Anybody not local (OH, friend's wife) just don't 'get it'.
I'd never heard of tomato sausage before either, so I googled it and apparently a local butchers I go in to sells it! I've probably never noticed as I'm not a fan of sausage tbh, although that does sound really nice! I might try some.

You don't know what you're missing :rotfl:

'Discount stores' .. Really that's the best you can do lmao... For reference, could you elaborate!? .. So I know where not to shop Pmsl
OMG!! Chip shop curry sauce.. I think I might actually be sick!! That looks foul, smells worse and I once got some on my finger!!! But on chips so they go soggy!! Soggy food is Satan food!!
Tomato sausage is wonderful, one of the few things I eat tomato in .. I complained only this week tesco stopped doing their lovely sundries tomato sausages.. The burgers were edible too.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I love all sorts of sausages but they do have to be good quality and definitely fried rather than grilled or done in the oven.0 -

What is wrong with discount stores? It's called shopping savvy.

Even Cumberland sausage? Coming from the county that's it's from, I feel I ought to like it as much as I like the other local delicacies, but I just can't! :eek:0 -
Well I'm just special! haha .. that was already established! In the cases where there was nothing I would eat I just stayed at home.Feral_Moon wrote: »No, you're just odd. You don't appreciate quality food. The fact you shop mainly in discount stores reflects this.
Wow, Feral Moon, you're being a bit rude to Pigpen. Actually 'discount' stores like LIDL and ALDI sell some of the best quality foodstuffs in the country. Everything I have ever had from there is top notch and tasty, and very good quality. They just sell the stuff at lower prices because they don't deal with 100s of suppliers, (just a small handful,) they don't have any silly 'points' cards, or vouchers that hold up EVERY queue, and they have skeleton staff.
I don't know where YOU shop for your food, but if it's M & S or Waitrose, I can guarantee that some of the foodstuffs are provided by the same suppliers as the discount stores you revile so readily! :rotfl: So stop looking down at people who don't shop in so-called 'better quality' shops.Feral_Moon wrote: »So you've never had chips & curry sauce??? Ummmm, you have chips and curry sauce with a sausage on top?! But think discount stores are beneath you?!
:rotfl: Irony time!Georgiegirl256 wrote: »What is wrong with discount stores? It's called shopping savvy.
Exactly! The food is fine from many of those stores, see my post above!

Ooh yes - I love a good Cumberland ring!0 -
Favs on the menus here are
Chip and gravy
Chip and curry sauce
Chip, peas, onion and gravy
Chip beans and cheese
Chip, stuffing and gravy
And any combo of the above
I miss chip shop steak and kidney pies
. No chippy here does pies and pub pies don't be the same
I have to go to weatherspoons and get steak and kidney pudding, chips and peas, with vinegar and tomato sauce
Brown sauce in a bacon butty. Colmans English on a burger. Polish mustard on just about everything. It's so good I've been tempted to just have a mustard sandwich
I buy the Polish mustard at that discount store lidl's. Along with the best parmasan you can get and the most tasty fresh baked bread. Love the small baguettes, great for a posh fish finger sandwich at lunch time0 -

I don't actually shop at either of those places and if I did then it is noone business .. I have been in Lidl (and bought boots and colouring books and cereal) and wasn't overly impressed, ours seems to be one of the rubbish ones
Aldi has bouncers to combat the drug dealers and brawlers.. its a bit scary!.. this is why it is so funny! But if I did shop so what! I don't consider those discount stores.. I'm not sure what I would tbh.. One thing for sure.. I won't ever buy everyday food from M&S!! haha LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
