Evening all
Sorry so quiet over the weekend. I was buried under almost 400 test papers that needed marking for a good 8-10 hours and didn't want the distraction of being online, even if I would have loved it. Worst thing is that I still have 2 classes left to do.That's a big frog needing dealt with, but 59 papers is less than 382...
Thanks to everyone who has already signed up for May - I'm hoping to get my own focus back onto appreciating the good things in life that don't cost me a lot of money so that's where the idea comes from. I work with teenagers, and they are so materialistic. I wish I'd known then what I know now.... Please be kind to me though, I am a busy bunny at work and I've never run a challenge before so a bit nervous (even though I know we're all lovely)
GSR - I am in awe of your buying a car in cash and just driving it away. That must be a fantastic feeling. :j
Bob - keep up your fantastic work :T
Today I am grateful for good friends, and being emotionally intelligent. Not giving up

Not much to report. Needed another sleep this afternoon. Have done the rubbish and recycling round up. DS3's beloved has gone home but other guests are still here.
Frugal - they bought me lunch (saved some for tea as well) but I went to collect it.
Hoping to go for a walk (don't want to but must try)
Happy - some reading done, some sewing (nearly a whole elephant). Decided my life is too short to read a 'motivational' book - he may have had a point or two but aggravates me when they talk in baby language. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Evening all,
Bob - congratulations on the 50% marker
Ee - hope you feel better soon
I'm really gutted that the new tax year has meant a reduction in my take home payFeels like a real kick in the teeth. I'm already grumpy at the amount of money that gets taken off me before I see my pay. If I got my gross pay, I'd be so rich :rotfl:
Also a little bit wobbly as got an invite to a wedding that I knew was coming and I'm really excited for, except that I'll be going alone and everyone else I know is taking a plus one. My invite didn't even say plus one as my friend knows that I'm single but I'm finding it emotionally tough.
Today was payday and another SFD :j Paid towards the debt and will live off the rest.
Hope it's warmer wherever you all are. It's freezing here and had to put the heating on!LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Sorry not posted again for ages, next month I must try to check in every day. Had a lovely time at home and have returned rested and more ready to deal with everything. Still feel rubbish but got a doctor's appointment next week so will see what they suggest.
I've had a few more NSDs taking me up to 11 for the month. Not much else going on, just counting down to payday on Thursday.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Fmess...I feel that feeling too. I have a wedding to go to solo next month and that will be a first for me too. When I've had other big events to go to since my divorce I just go back to the rule my mum gave me when I was a shy kid. Just focus on the people around you and imagine they're all even more nervous than you. If you do your best to make them feel OK, all of a sudden you feel OK.
Usually works for me. And if it doesn't, cos let's face it you can sometimes find it very hard to make conversation with people you don't know if they really don't want to play nice, I just think I'm turning up for my friend, to honour them and be part of their celebration.. And that helps me every time. Even though you really don't get to spend any time with them at those dos because they are so busy.
I've gone to no end of parent consultations, orthodontics appointments, football and rugby practices and games and the odd Serious Chat etc...not for my own pleasure but cos it's part of the parenting deal. I did all of that alone even when married. In comparison doing the part of the friends/relatives deal in going to see them mark big days/ transitions with all the dresses, sense of occasion and food should be a doddle. Even if occasionally you feel very single. Here we go eh?Total debt at 18.9.17 £1950

Hello,
that's one frog dealt with and DS's passport application is sent off. My second frog is my boots which will be picked up from the cobbler on Thur and the 3rd (biggest) frog is the finance chat with DH which will happen today or tomorrow (gosh you should see his face every time I try to remind him).
Trying to switch bank accounts atm. The 7-day-switch is so misleading . Started the application and brought ID into a branch on the 12th. Only now did I get the email that the account will be opened and the switch started. This will be finished on May the 9th. That is nearly a month! Nowhere on any of the/any banks websites does it tell you that. They all just focus on what happens during the last 7 days.
Last night spend an hour cleaning the kitchen (another humongous frog really, deep clean-declutter the house in stages). Will have to conitune today as still not done.
Healthy lunch and run today I think.
Fmess dreading Friday and payday as I'll think get reduced pay too.

Fmess - don't stress out about going to a wedding alone, probably won't be that bad as you think. I am going to one in August on my todd will just drink more hehe. Polly - I used to everywhere on my own when in a so called relationship you get used to it. I am quite a chatty person so mingle well.
How come you are all getting reduced pay?
I have come unstuck on my SFD days added them up wrong, plus needed milk and few odd things yesterday so only at 15/20 including today.:eek:Rubbish role model I am:o
Bob - congratulations on halfway there stage, bopping around to Bon Jovi for you.
Got too much money going out and not enough coming in over next few weeks. I hate paying interest on cc's but its either that or I do a bal tf - which means I will not be pushing myself hard enough to pay it off. Will work out some figures tomorrow and make a decision. Had a few too many nights out this month as well which hasn't helped also friend got a mini break booked which I need to pay my half towards - fairly cheap and couple of days away would be nice.
Todays frugality
Got my washing in dried overnight -surprised in gales stayed on the line.
Still eating leek/potato soup for lunch.
Phoned Bldrs merchants rather than drive there after work, to be a snappy turtle - delivered fence panels and no the posts! How do they think I am putting them up:rotfl:
