So another week has flown by.....
Sunday became a NSD as relative did not need anything from the shops which meant I didn't need to set foot in a shop otherwise I would have spent money.
Sunday night I got a painful back, not achy but more shooting pains and a weird sensation - I thought I had overdone the allotment!!
Monday was also a NSD - may back still felt odd and when I touched it, it really stung.
Tuesday was a spend day as DS' GF was coming to stay for a few days so had to get pizzas, chips and some easy things to prepare (she is vegetarian and only eats pasta, veggie burgers or pizza:mad: and I did pasta last time she came)
My back felt a lot better but DH told me I had a few spots on my back - I thought they might be flea bites (which was concerning as all animals treated regularly.
Weds was a NSD - even more spots on my back and looked like they had a head on them:eek:
Thurs was a NSD - a few more spots on my tummy and decided this might actually be shingles so did a google and I think it is.
Fri was another NSD - told work (I have been at work all work but just in a different office) about my suspected shingles, they had a meeting and then rung our HR guy - by the time he returned the call I was at a 2hr meeting and when I got back I was told to visit the GP and if I refused would be suspended!! So after I had been at work for over 6 hours (I cancelled my appts so did not see any clients) I went home. Rung GP for advice and he asked to see me - he has confirmed shingles:eek:
I don't have many spots and feel fine although quite itchy:rotfl: so have been carrying on as normal.
DH says he knows I am ill as I have not been getting up until 6.45 or 7am when usually I am raring to go before 6am!!
I guess this has all come out after my cold/sore throat/cough thing lasted for over 3 weeks and made me run down.
I never get ill so am quite annoyed:rotfl:
Saturday was a spend day as had charity event.
Today should be a NSD, been to collect wood for beds on allotment and will go up shortly to start putting them round the beds. Might try to get potato's planted but not sure yet.
If today is a NSD then it takes me up to 14 for the month so won't make target but still quite good.
Forgot to say that I weighed myself on Friday and am down to 10st 7lb so another 2lb lost:T.
Have not done my audit yet but have nearly caught up with YNAB - I definitely need to catch up by tomorrow as it's DH's payday in a few days.
The evenings have just run away with me, I seem to have been busy every evening and did not keep to my evening rota which I created - hoping to get back on track this week.
Congratulations to those who have had good news and those who have managed to pay off debts.
Well done to everyone for keeping up with the challenge.0 -
I keep forgetting to do the frugal bits, so for yesterday
1 did not spend any money
2 DS3's beloved arrived with a large carrier bag and produces something from it, every time DS3 gets bored - I am quite happy to let her do this
3 rather pleased with the toilet rolls I bought in January. Pack of 24 for £7. Thought about it quite a lot in the shop, trying to decide if they were equal or better than the nicky ones from home bargain. In the end decided there wasn't much in it (if they did two months) plus they would be delivered and I wouldn't have to lug them home. However they have done nearly 4 months, so super bargain. They should go into next month but not sure of the effect of 3 extra people this week - last friend arrives today, gf is due to go (but may have swapped tomorrow's shift), not sure how long the others will stay - depends on college/ work/ other commitments. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Hi everyone!
Calling what lovely news!
Sorry for the lack of posting again. Overtime really knocked me out again and I've just recovered from it. Probably won't post again this month as we are going away tomorrow and I'm planning on leaving iPads etc at home.
Think we will end pretty much on budget this month. I think grocery shopping is slightly over budget due to needing extra work lunches and stocking up on snacks so we don't have to buy expensive items whilst away. However, we are under on the fuel budget so balances out overall. I think I am up to 16 SFDs. Not sure how many we will manage whilst away.
'See' you all in May!0 -
Sorry I haven't got time to check in properly - I'm dying under my marking pile.
But I have put the May challenge up.

Today I am grateful for a good book, for emails allowing instant communication, for another NSD, for the robin who likes our climbing frame almost as much as dd does, for sunshine.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Today has been a productive day and cheap. So all good there. Got quite a bit done around the house, & with DS and homework/reading. Even managed about an hour out in the park by the river and then the playground with them both.
Cashed in the McD card that is filled up with wombled beans and bought son a hot chocolate to drink on our walk. Saving of around £2 didn't note the exact cost.
Sent an email to DS investment account holder to see if they will accept his badly performing CTF. Fingers crossed.
Rounded up £5 worth of DVDs to sell to music magpie.
Dinner was a use it up pasta bake.
Looking forward to tommorow and being able to hit 50% paid off.

Slow start to the day. Everyone else stayed up later then me so wasn't expecting anyone to surface before noon, so I stayed in bed reading for a while.
The children (all 25 and 26) have been playing pokemon all day and then progressed to telling awful jokes, currently watching something on the laptop and tackling the ice cream mountain. So far I haven't had to provide any food for them, just trot round with the rubbish bin and collect empty cans now and then.
Today I am grateful for
people keeping themselves amused and fed
having time to relax
getting on with my sewing
Things that make me happy
lots of reading
sewing and using things up
having more room (radiator is off so one couch is pushed back as far as possible). New layout helps
leisurely bath before anyone else was awake
Frugal things
Using materials I have
Eating what I have in the house
Apart from the new quilt and pillows (long overdue) we have enough bedding for everyone (and mattresses although twp are going in the collection next month)My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
