I have decided to do a time audit this week. Don't know if it is the prospect of visitors or whether it's because I am writing down everything I do but today has been very productive so far. Just sitting down in between bouts of moving furniture around. DS3 claims he is trying to enjoy time alone with beloved but I suspect that when his friend arrives, friend will end up helping me to move the last 3 items into place (he did carry up the heavy part of the filing cabinet).
Washing just finished so will go and hang it out in a minute. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
CCL looking forward to your challenge and a rest from controlling the unruly lot hehe.
Bob I pay same as you and I am on a water meter, tend to have baths and do use hose pipe a fair bit.
Well got all my fencing ordered. Now I don't know whether to pay someone to do it or my old dog walking mate, with me as labourer. Just think it may be bit much for him now I will sound him out. Ordered it through work so get it cheaper and new neighbours offered to pay towards it.
Carpet tread things got - need to work out how to cut them- hacksaw I reckon they are plastic wood flooring effect.
Today's BIG surprise gs and DD turned up with gs wearing a tshirt saying I am going to be a big brother. Lovely news made my day.

Lovely news, Calling!
Today has been a quiet day, focussed on helping dd get better. I kept her off school yesterday, after taking her to the dr with red itchy eyes and a puffy face. It seems to be due to a stinker of a cold which manifested itself all too clearly in the night. She is now all dosed up, but next to the box of tissues.
And she has cleared a huge amount from her room, so I now have more 4 bagfuls for the Sally Army, just from her. I wouldn't ever give away her things without asking her, and she is so pleased to have done all of this by herself, no nagging or even hinting from me!
Another one here looking forward to May's challenge. I love the different flavours every month.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Well done calling.
Had a 4 hour sleep after furniture moving but still really tired. Tried to get DS3 to move the 3 items I couldn't do alone (wanted the bed made up for his friend before I gave up. His friend arrived just as he was starting so they have done it (I got told I had been being annoying all day).
Will also be back in bed shortly.
Today I am grateful for/ things that made me happy
my new pillows and quilt - wonderful (like sleeping on clouds)
the front room looking more 'normal'
DS3's helpful friend is here
washing up is done (ready for next batch of cooking)
still have several programmes to watch (may be after the weekend as DS3 and beloved have been watching anime so I can't have anything with sound on)
Tired but happy. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Sorry for a week between posting, will just catch up and then tell you about another eventful week!!EE. Hope your relative is on the mend. If it is Tia's can you bring controlled with medication, my brother has that. Well done fab weight loss.
.
Relative had a stroke in 2001 and then a TIA in 2010 so he does have warfarin to take and has regular blood tests. The discharge notes actually say stroke followed by some letters and when we googled it the letters relate to the part of the brain which has been affected. We should know more when the MRI results are back.
Relative is doing really well, he did not need shopping on Sunday and I checked the fridge and freezer and he had enough in to last him but when I rung him on Friday night he told me he had been to town the day before to stretch his legs:eek:. I told him he was naughty:rotfl:
The problem is that he has been independent for years and does not want to rely on anyone.
Most of the bus drivers and passengers know him and he is a regular sight in town and carries our details in his wallet so if anything had happened someone would have rung us.Eager elephant please share your secret for gf Yorkshire puddings?! Mine never risethriftylass wrote: »Sorry to jump in. I use 200ml milk, 200 ml eggs (about 4), 200ml (about 140g) flour.. I put a muffin tray in the oven with some goose fat in each well (goose fat gets hotter than oil, a bit like beef drippings). Once the oil is hot I pour the batter in. 20 min at as hot as my oven can do (I think 220 maybe). I think the hot tray and fat is the answer
I do similar to thriftylass but add more eggs - I find the more eggs I add the more they rise so I use slightly less milk and about 5 or 6 eggs. Also I find that if you let the batter mix sit then the top stays runny but underneath it has thickened so instead of pouring from the bowl into the batter pan I scoop it out with a ladle so I get some of the thicker mix as well.
I definitely also heat the pan before use - it helps the Yorkshires come loose at the end of cooking.0
