No exercise and won't make 10K steps (currently at less than 5k) - woke up with a sore throat and aching limbs, so stayed in bed until gone 11am (does OH good once in a while to deal with the children!) and then have generally flopped around and done very little except drink lots of tea and eat mousse and souffle! :D Am really hoping I feel better tomorrow - I have a lot of steps to make up!

N0t an0ther nsd, as we are visiting mum and it's a 3-hour trip when the traffic flows (up to 5 1/2 when it doesn't!) So imvolved a m'way stop. Dd and I had our food, dh had a coffee + muffin. Then, once here, I went food shopping for tea. Got bargains, but still a spend.

However, got my zwow done - #41 - and my veg down me.

    Hi everyone,

So pleased to report my third NSD! Hurrah!
I was so determined not to waste it that I used pearl barley to make my risotto for tea and the kids had cheese toasted wraps for lunch to save me going out and buying bread and aborio rice! Feel really proud of that.
And I am glad To share, it makes me accountable.
Went to the park again with a friend and her kids, loving these free days out with my kids.
I've managed 421 under 10k steps today I guess I could run up and down the stairs several times to hit the goal I guess.
Tomorrow I'm off out with the kids, all spends were put in an envelope ready and I won't be spending anyone that that, does that count as a aNsd or a planned spend day?

  • Our first week is going quite well! We've sold some stuff and made about £250 so far. Hoping to live off that as much as possible and not touch our wages. Eating better, and have been on some good family walks. We have done a meal plan, and did the food shop from a list. Not got far on the budget front yet though. Oh, and I got a 6% pay rise today, so a positive start to the month! :)

Julie have fun in the caravan. Hope you have a good holiday. It's a shame about your group not getting more school vouchers. How have you tried to advertise that you want them? Via the scouts parents? I can't help but think a lot of people would respond if you were able to put a poster close to the point of sale. Unless that's illegal or something? Most Mr S I know have a notice board near the customer service. A well placed poster calling for customers donations might go down nicely.

Apple was just chatting to someone today about the cost of motorway service station coffee. It really is obscene that the companies are allowed to wack the price up so much for the same product just because of the monopoly they have.

Calling hopefully I haven't made the wrong decision on the heating then. The mice obviously agree it's still cold as my cat had caught another and left it by the wellies this morning. He's a killer that one.

Today was a low spend day. £9 on shopping. Just got enough in to start the week. Thought we'd cleared the fridge but found a home made beef burger in there and added it to a spaghetti dinner for DS along with an end of chorizo and tomatoes. And a portion of noodle soup for my lunch.
I froze some more mandarins that were on the turn and think I will do a jelly as suggested by you mothernerd I think.

Did around 2 hours walking all in today.

    Have a good night all.

    Hi all

A difficult few days with some serious boundary setting conversations with teens after the freezer being unplugged incident. I was tearful alone later, it brought up a lot of stuff from my disastrous marriage when I couldn't set boundaries at all as my ex would undermine them, whether they were for the kids or for me. Why it made me so sad that now I can and do talk frankly and openly to my children and bear the brunt of discipline more successfully, who knows. Anyone one blub later, I have 3 NSDs so far to report.

Just as well as I have £150 to last til payday on 15th. Shouldn't be any more bills to pay but there is a driving lesson, and food and the incidentals.

In great news I've just been offered a small part time job on top of my current role. It's a much more creative opportunity and I'm really looking forward to it. Not much money but some, and it's all ££ in, not out. Have put up six things on eBay.

Exercise not so good yesterday, agreed to go swim on Monday with a work colleague which is a new thing. I was walking and gardening loads over the Easter break and took some leave last week. Need to build in some more. Right off to do my plank and face Tuesday. All best x

Well done on your job Polly that's great news. Sorry your teens are not respecting your boundaries though. I meant to comment the other day but I would have felt devastated too if I'd built up a store in the freezer only for someone to leave it open. I hope it never happens again.

Another day another frog to eat. But eat it I will. As today is April 5th I am going to find 5 things I am grateful for by the end of today. Shift the focus to the good side of life.

    Good luck all

Good morning all you Ninja saving turtles :D

Today I am making it my goal to be extra friendly to everyone i see and to push myself that little bit further with everything i do. I am also going to make myself drink 2 litres of water/juice today. I have already started cutting back on tea/coffee and drinking more water and i have started feeling the benefits already!

Tonight i'm meeting with a group of friendly for a monthly get together and for tonights event they've asked us all to bring non perishable foods (tinned stuff) for a local homeless shelter, which will be another good deed done for the day :D:D:D

Greent hope you feel better today.

    Bob what a lovely idea.

Azzzaa what a nice thought to add to your monthly gathering.

Polly great news on the job. Well done. Being able to be more creative is a positive with the added benefit of more cash too.
