Hi Gunjack, Just tried this from the link you gave me, still not working, any ideas please?
did you use the third bat file? did you reboot the machine when it completed? did you check that BITS service was running before checking for updates? have you changed the update settings from auto to notify? Some clarity on what you have/have not done would help..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I'm having exactly the same problems as GeeBee38, except mine is 64bit.
I've also worked through GJ's link, all 3 .bat files, no good.
I've checked that Update and BITS are starting correctly.
Once more I ran the Update Client in DCM's post, yet again nothing, after a few hours I killed it and got an error, 0x8007005, which lead to,
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/968003
I downloaded the SubInACL tool and the .bat file, installed it and ran the .bat file, again nothing.
Checked, and found it's no longer activated, same as on Saturday.
I re-entered the same key, and it activated. !!!!!! is going on.
eta: also ran the inbuilt troubleshooter, it checked update and BITS, but didn't find anything.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
i wonder how why this is happening. what version of Windows7 are you all using?0
