That's my dream Iz.... well, technically the dream is a craft shop/workshop place with a beautiful tea room as part of it. We'd sell craft supplies, and also run various courses..... all with lovely cake on offer :D

Ooh tea! If this happens! Please save me from my job!! I make jewellery, bridal hair pieces (clips, combs, vines, tiaras etc) - i do all sorts!!! I'd be a happy employee in that sector! Xx
Please be nice to all moneysavers!

Gitdog was saying hello to his dog and got a bit exuberant. Which I had warned him may happen, (because I always do so they can tell us to keep away if they want to) and he said it was ok. We were talking about dog socialisation. Then he decided if he showed Gitdog who was boss, all our problems would miraculously be solved.

    What a cheek!

Sounds like this thread has the makings of a craft commune.

A little courtyard in a Cathedral city with little workshops housing different crafts etc and the tea shop.
    Flats above to live in!

Instead of doing laundry, tidying up, catching up with the GCSE Maths, doing a bit of cross stitch, getting immersed in my new Paul Mckenna weight loss book/CD/DVD, getting on with essential shopping, vacuuming or taking bulky duvets, blankets and a sleeping bag to the launderette, I realised I had never seen what was in Leamington Spa.

So I went to Leamington Spa.

The Pump Room and Baths is now a museum, library, art gallery and cafe.

The museum gives a history of the origin of the spa waters and how the uses for the building changed over the years.

NHS patients were treated there right up to the early nineties. The Hammam (Turkish Steam Room) has been partially restored and I lounged on a reclining deck chair and listened to stories on a telephone dial up machine from GPs, patients and therapists who worked or were referred for pool therapy.

Leamington seems quite posh but it was sad to see there were empty shops there as well. At ground level, many of the Regency buildings appeared pristine, but get to second or third storey level and there was peeling paint, plant life in the guttering and boarded up and broken windows. Sad.

I was surprised to see so many opticians so close to each other as well. Independent and chains. Leamington didn't strike me as particularly large, so I have no idea who the client base they serve came from. Even some of the 'lifestyle', homewares and gift shops sold reading specs.

Still, I 'm back home now.

    Sensible stuff tomorrow.

    Maybe. :D
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

Having an organising morning so the house is looking a bit clearer.

Have got behind with washing, which is annoying as it will be too late to attempt to hang it out.

Off to see ER this afternoon while DH is at work. Then will probably do some craft with littlewing later.

I had a tray that was stained and horrible so I painted that last night and it looks a lot better. Just have to let it dry and then paint some flowers on it.

I got one of those sholl battery operated foot filing things for xmas (at my request!) It is one of those things I see advertised and think it looks great. Usually electrical presents are not as convenient as you think they will be. I am very pleased with it though. It has made a huge difference. (Boots star gift so on offer too).I always think of WaS with her soft feet after I've used it.

Decided where you are going to go on your next outing, WaS?

Saw that our prime minister is going to focus on mental health, but haven't got the articles to link in at the moment. I was pleased when I read it.

GN, I love leamington. The huge paycut job I've applied for is there.

I'm just about to attempt to put together a bedside table/drawer thing....Wish me luck. I can't get the box open so far :rotfl:
