Ah calley - forgot to respond to your suggestion. Its a good idea. One day a week, I shall not dress like a 90s student.

Tea, if life was a chicklit when you found out about FOH, you'd have sold up, quit your job, moved to a small town become best friends with Iz who would also be living there for some reason and done exactly this. :rotfl:

Then of course, you'd meet the mysterious Aiden Turner lookalike and after a series of misunderstandings live happily ever after in his rambling country house.

As long as I can still have IzHe can I please come and live in your world :D

I miss the summer as I live in dresses most of the time. And it makes me more feminine and more lady like.

Fine until I open my my mouth :rotfl:

Just to send squishes to all and to say

    - I am still reading and sorry to be quiet
    - I still have flu aftermath and really knocked myself out this morning with some serious exercise - changing the duvet cover! :rotfl:
    - we decided that despite the flu, it was one of the best Christmases ever, because we were very affectionate while we were in bed together and it was lovely to have spousal support! (Ha ha, I don't mean anything rude, the rudest thing was mutual back rubs when we both had bad backache!) :p

You do not want my world. Just had a nightmare getting home. All trains cancelled. Rail replacement bus full before it got to my station so had to get a train to the nearest station and get a taxi from there. Back is killing me now.

And still nothing about an interview. :(

Looks like my free blouse was the highlight for today.

    Lovely to see you jm.

    On the ageing parent theme:
Me - here's the information for you to read so you can have a think about what you want to put in your power of attorney.
Parent - just tell me what you want and that's what I'll put in
Me - I can't tell you what to put in, it's not my PoA. Read the info, then we can talk through the options before you decide.

    Gap of several months.

Me - how you getting on with reading that information?
Parent - just tell me what you think is best and that's what I'll do.

  • My parents have done their PoAs, inspired by my mum's experience of having to go to the court of protection to get control of my gran's affairs - gran had Alzheimers and for at least the last seven or so years of her life wasn't able to look after herself. Mum found dealing with all the civil servants and forms a real struggle so her and dad got PoAs drawn up. Though she found the case meetings about gran's care even worse as the public sector turned up mob handed, about half a dozen of them from the council, health authority, residential home etc in a meeting with her and she felt totally overwhelmed by them all.

That's why I'm nagging - part of my job involves working with people who lack capacity in decisions for medical treatment or change of accommodation and it's so much better when the PoA is in place with their wishes.
Of course the next step is to do one for myself....

  • Beaten you! We both did wills and POA in November, which was charity will month. We thought POA were a good idea but probably could have saved money by doing them without a solicitor (but would we have done them?)
