There's no one I trust enough to give a POA too. :(

Experiences with relatives in recent years have made it quite clear to me that a lot of decisions some people might make on one's behalf are more to do with what's best for them, all wrapped up as what's best for you.
    Scary stuff. :(

That is very true, pyxis, but they will also do what is best for them without it too. So it is probably still better (in most circumstances) for someone to have it.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

I need a boot up the jacksie. I am feeling overwhelmed by my to-do list. I have to clean my house for impending visitors. I have a tension headache.

I'm fairly sure if I got off my backside and did something. I'll feel better, just can't motivate myself out of my chair right now. Gitdog is bored and very unimpressed.

  • HAve you started yet elsien? I'm still sat in my chair contemplating another cup of tea, rather than getting out in the garden and doing the digging that's needed.

You're still doing better than me... I can't even motivate enough to go to the shop (all of about a 1min walk away) to get milk so I can't even have tea.

Also a big to do list here elsien.....I did manage to get the ironing done (thanks to the motivational power of the new Rick Astley album - love it! :D) Have definitely ground to a halt now though.
  • No milk for tea is a pretty huge motivation for me to go to the shop :rotfl: It needs a monsoon for me not to go if I've run out!

Need to go and tidy up in the kitchen now we have eaten lunch and he is watching the grand tour. Not my choice of viewing!!!!

want to pop in to town to get a few bits and pieces.

    Catch you all later.

I took Gitdog out. This led to an altercation with a dog owner who decided Gitdog and I needed a lesson in "how to be alpha". I.e. He grabbed Gitdog by the neck and tried to force him into a down. On the one hand I'm relieved that Gitdog went into his best stubborn "eff off" mode and declined to co-operate, on the other hand I almost wish he'd given the bloke a warning to teach him not to try outdated Cesar Milan b.Oll.ox on strange dogs he's never met before.
I'm also cross with myself for being so taken aback I didn't tell him where to go. And I still have all my to do list.
On the positive side, the headache has gone.

Gitdog was saying hello to his dog and got a bit exuberant. Which I had warned him may happen, (because I always do so they can tell us to keep away if they want to) and he said it was ok. We were talking about dog socialisation. Then he decided if he showed Gitdog who was boss, all our problems would miraculously be solved.
