Thanks.
Overslept, arrived half hour late, messed up algebra, solving quadratic equations, Venn diagrams and shapes.
Not bad on less than three hours sleep though.
Resigning would mean more time to study. I have not spent over £800 to screw up again.
I'm exhausted.
Hugs and squishes to everyone.
About to start work. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

Though I do still tend to represent abstract problems using algebra to make them easier to solve.
Do you have a few months after the mock until the exam proper to practice?Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
Why did you have to pay, gingernutty? I thought GCSE maths and English were free to study, if you haven't already got a C or above.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

So do I! I love doing that.
When I was working, one of my employees used to bring in the Daily Mail and give me the puzzle page. There was one puzzle called a Mindbender quiz, which was a mathematical puzzle, and frequently the best way to solve it was by converting it into an algebraic equation. I used to love doing those, even though I was hopeless at Maths at school!
I must have learned something, though!(I just lurve spiders!)

I've got a C grade, but I want a job which requires grade B or above.
Or, under the new syllabus, grade 7 or above. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
I've found a couple online, the sort of Mindbender quiz I used to like doing.
Here's one.......
One day Santa gives each girl ten sweets and each boy 10 sweets.
Of 439 children - four fifths girls and two thirds boys are allowed to take sweets. If he started with 4000 sweets, how many has he left?
The answer is in my next post as a penguin, but no cheating!(I just lurve spiders!)

My brain hurts just reading that. And show me probabilities and I'll be gently rocking and mumbling to myself in the corner of the fort.
I like puzzles. And if it was already in equation form I could probably do it. But I get serious brain freeze when it's in word form like that. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
